Swayambhunath

From kathmandu Durbar Square, you'll drive up to Swayambhunath Stupa (commonly known as the Monkey Temple), an ancient Buddhist shrine perched on a hill offering panoramic views of the valley. Swayambhunath Stupa, also called the Monkey Temple, is one of the oldest and most important religious places in Nepal. It sits on a hill in Kathmandu and gives a beautiful view of the city. The big white dome and golden tower have Buddha’s eyes painted on them, showing peace and wisdom. People believe the stupa appeared by itself when Kathmandu was still a big lake.
