What you can expect

  • Begin your day with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Urumqi. Travel to the Tianshan Mountains and take a scenic shuttle bus to the Tianchi Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Arrive at the lake, which sits at the foot of Bogda Peak and is surrounded by spruce forests and alpine landscapes. Admire the views from the main lake viewing platform, stroll along the lakeside walking trails, and visit the West Queen Mother Temple (optional).

    Enjoy lunch at your own expense before taking an optional cable car ride (self-paid) for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Finally, relax on the return journey to Urumqi, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.
