Begin your tour with a pickup from your accommodation in Valencia and head south to the charming town of El Saler, the gateway to the protected Albufera Natural Park. Collect your bike and set off along a gentle, flat route that follows the beachside bike path, an area of untouched dunes and coastline that feels worlds away from the city’s lively waterfront.
From the shore, ride into the cool shade of the Mediterranean pine forest, following quiet trails that guide you towards the lagoon. Pause at a bird sanctuary, where, with a bit of luck, you may spot wild flamingos and other native species before continuing on to your boat launch.
Next, enjoy a peaceful 45-minute boat ride across the mirror-like waters of the Albufera. As you glide along, enjoy open views of traditional A-frame barraca farmhouses, migratory birdlife, and the silhouette of Valencia and its neighbouring towns in the distance.
This is the heart of paella region, where the rice used in this iconic dish is grown just metres from where it will later be served. In this authentic Valencian setting, you’ll then enjoy a relaxed and traditional paella lunch, made with fresh, locally grown ingredients - a simple and genuine taste of the region’s culinary heritage. Please note that lunch is not included in the price of the tour.
Your return ride takes you along a different forest path, offering new scenery before we drop off the bikes, and we bring you back to the city in your private vehicle.
