Doing a try dive at Berlenga Island is a unique and unforgettable experience, perfect for those taking their first steps into the underwater world. Located off the coast of Peniche, Portugal, the island offers crystal-clear waters, stunning rock formations, and a rich variety of marine life.
The experience begins with a short briefing on land, where certified instructors explain the basic diving principles and how to use the equipment safely. Then, participants enter the waterafter a 30 minutes boat ride—always under close supervision.
At just a few metres deep, beginners can encounter colourful schools of fish, octopuses, sea urchins, and, with a bit of luck, even nudibranchs. The dive takes place in the heart of the Berlengas Nature Reserve, a protected area that enhances the sense of immersion in nature.
