What you can expect

  • The meeting point is in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. The tour should start at nightfall. It starts with a foray into the culinary delights of the Middle Ages and modern times. You'll visit the oldest cellar restaurant and the oldest restaurant still in existence today, and wander through the darkest alley in Vienna (just like 500 years ago) equipped only with a lamp. You'll also learn about the development of street lighting. The tour also visits the sites of the former bathhouses. Of course, the topic of prostitution in Vienna isn't overlooked. This is followed by information about evening entertainment at the court of the Habsburgs and the nobility. A visit to the oldest bar in Vienna rounds off the tour.
