A new guided tour in Reggio Emilia, in one of the city's most iconic locations. The visit takes place at one of the most significant examples of an asylum complex in Italy, from its origins to its transformation into the General Establishment of the “Case de' Pazzi” of the Este States. We will talk about its renovation, which abolished the primitive repressive systems, about the scientific studies that made it a landmark for care and research at the national level, and about the stories of the inmates who testify to lives that are distant and different from ours, but at the same time close to us because of their universal and timeless humanity. A guided visit spanning history, stories, and lived experiences of a Reggio that has always existed but has been largely ignored.
Admission to the Museum of Psychiatry is included.
