What you can expect

  • Step into an unforgettable evening at Wailua Nui Lu'au, where the spirit of ancient Hawai'i comes to life in one of Kauai’s most sacred and historically rich locations. Surrounded by lush landscapes, gentle ocean breezes, and the echoes of ancient chiefs and navigators, the lu'au offers you the chance to deeply connect with the heart of Hawaiian culture.

As the sun sets and the stars emerge, you’ll be transported to a time when great chiefs, brave navigators, and skilled fishermen shaped the islands. The festivities of the Wailua Nui Lu'au bring these legendary mo'olelo (stories) to life through mele (song) and hula (dance), allowing you to feel the mana (spiritual energy) of this sacred land.

From the unveiling of the imu (underground oven) to the final beat of the drum, every moment immerses you in the traditions, flavours, and vibrant stories of Hawai‘i’s past. Discover the brilliance of the ancient navigators, the playful tales of the fishermen, and the profound wisdom of Kaua‘i’s esteemed chiefs—all while basking in the beauty and cool ocean breezes of Wailua.
