The Bastei is one of the most prominent lookout points in Saxon Switzerland. The Bastei Bridge has its spectacular viewpoints; the views from the bridge over the Elbe River and the river valley are magnificently beautiful. The ruins of Neurathan Castle (first mentioned in 1755) can be visited, where remnants of rooms and staircases are carved in the rocks.
