Shadow Puppetry Mini-Class & Studio Visit: Begin with an introduction to the history and cultural significance of Chinese shadow puppetry, a national intangible cultural heritage art form with over a thousand years of history. Visit a working studio to see traditional puppets up close and learn about carving, colouring, and assembly techniques. Discover the symbolism behind character roles and costume designs.

Hands-On Puppet Making: Under the guidance of a master artisan, paint and complete your own shadow puppet. You will: Add colour to traditional patterns; Learn about symbolic colour meanings; Assemble movable joints. Your finished puppet becomes a unique souvenir to take home.

Live Shadow Puppet Performance & Training: Watch a short traditional shadow puppet performance and experience how light, music, and storytelling come together behind the screen. Afterwards, learn basic performance techniques, including: Rod control and hand coordination; Character movements; Simple storytelling rhythm

Operate Your Puppet & Photo Moment: Step behind the screen and operate your own puppet under the lights. Experience being a performer and capture memorable photos of your shadow play moment.
