Hiking at Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano & Pindul Cave and Oyo River Tubing Adventure

Discover the natural beauty of Yogyakarta beyond its famous temples with an unforgettable adventure to Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano, Pindul Cave, and Oyo River. This private day tour combines scenic hiking, unique geological wonders, and a relaxing river adventure in the stunning countryside of Gunungkidul.

Your journey begins with a visit to Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano, a unique geological site formed millions of years ago. Unlike typical volcanoes, Nglanggeran is made of massive ancient volcanic rocks that create a spectacular landscape overlooking green hills, villages, and far-reaching views of the surrounding area.

Enjoy a moderate hike to the summit of this ancient mountain, where you can admire breathtaking panoramic scenery and experience the peaceful atmosphere of rural Java. Along the way, your local driver or guide will share stories about the history, culture, and natural formation of this fascinating destination.

Continue your adventure to Pindul Cave, one of Yogyakarta’s most popular natural attractions. Float gently through the underground cave on a traditional inner tube while following the flow of an underground river. Inside the cave, discover impressive limestone formations, natural chambers, and the famous “cave tunnel” atmosphere created over thousands of years.

After exploring Pindul Cave, continue to the beautiful Oyo River for an exciting yet relaxing river tubing experience. Drift along crystal-clear waters surrounded by limestone cliffs, tropical scenery, and hidden natural landscapes. The highlight of the journey is the stunning waterfall scenery and natural pools where you can enjoy the refreshing beauty of Gunungkidul.

This private adventure is perfect for travellers who want to experience the authentic side of Yogyakarta — combining adventure, nature, and local culture away from the busy tourist areas.
