What you can expect

Your guided experience begins with a scenic transfer to the park, where a professional local guide will lead you through dense tropical forest trails. Along the way, you’ll encounter the famous Zanzibar Red Colobus monkeys, an endangered species found nowhere else in the world. These monkeys are accustomed to visitors, allowing for close observation and great photography opportunities.
Continue your walk through the forest to discover a variety of ecosystems, including groundwater forest and mangrove swamps. Walk along a raised wooden boardwalk over the mangroves, where you can observe crabs, fish, and other coastal species while learning how this habitat protects Zanzibar’s shoreline.
Your guide will also introduce you to the forest’s rich plant life, often referred to as a “natural pharmacy,” explaining the traditional medicinal uses of various. Keep an eye out for other wildlife such as Sykes’ monkeys, bush babies, chameleons, and over 40 species of birds.
This tour offers a peaceful escape into nature and a deeper understanding of Zanzibar’s ecological importance and conservation efforts.
