I did not realize that for such a small island, a car or scooter would be necessary, but it is. I paid a lot more than I normally would for a hotel, but once we got there, we realized, it was really a gem of a find, and, to us, it was worth spending the extra money. The downside was that this hotel seems to cater to very wealthy, unfriendly, snooty and entitled...

"Teranka in Formentera is an absolute Gem. Besides the Beautiful Hotel fabulous staff on the stunning island of Formentera… it also offers the most incredible food ! Every dish was insanely good and on the roof top the dishes easily rival Nobu (the chef having worked there for many years / it shows :)). We went to Formentera for a 3 day couple break from the busy family life in Ibiza - and it was a 10 out of 10! Hands down one of THE best trips we have ever had. "
