"This was a wonderful experience. We were asked to check in between 2pm-5pm. We were glad to have made it around 3. From the entrance outside, the lobby, and the rooms it was a beautiful ryokan. "Fantastic location and clean hotel. Really enjoyed our stay but didn’t spend too much time in the hotel. The service is polite and the rooms are very functional. It is a little dated but still very clean and with everything you need. There was some building work taking place but we didn’t really notice any noise or disruption. Overall a great place to explore Matsumoto. We booked room only so didn’t try the breakfast."

"Wonderful experience! A stately & historical large ryokan nested on the eastern hill slope of Gero town. My second stay at this ryokan & will continue to stay there next time I am in Gero. Very good vista of the town in the morning or evening. Very large garden & landscape, with tall tress & seasonal flower trees.or bushes.. a beautiful & varied feast for the eyes & senses if one come at different seasons... Has its own hotel museum to showcase it's checkered history & early artifacts, etc....

To my relief, the hotel front desk contacted me immediately when their staff found my handbag. Everything in my handbag was left untouched. "
