Not so much a palace...
I was really impressed with the size of the rooms we had, not sure if we were upgraded? But the room was huge with a separate living area in which the children’s camp beds were placed. It had two toilets and two shower rooms which was fab. Cleaners did a wonderful job and put the children’s teddies in their pillows which was such a nice touch. Buffet food - was poor in my opinion. Very much the same thing every day, pasta, pizza, chips and not enough variety. Wine served on the all inclusive was very good though. Normally when it’s all inclusive it tastes like vinegar, but this was a very nice Portuguese wine. They also serve other branded alcohol and nice Portuguese beers. The only problem being, whenever we went to get a drink at the bar in the evening or at the pool bar, you had to wait a minimum of 20 mins (day time) and up to half an hour in the evening, as they only ever had one person serving at the bar at a time. Note on the pools - kids pool was fab with the pirate ship in it, which my kids loved. But the tile floor in the pool was rough and sharp and both my children cut/grazed their knees in it. Also all of the pools were really murky looking which we only noticed on the second day. We stayed here for x3 nights after staying at Vidamar resort for x7 days and you could definitely notice the drop in quality/service. Overall very disappointed with the stay and wish we had stayed on at Vidamar

The main problem was internet connection (WiFi). Sometimes it didn't work, more often it would work but barely have 1Mbps so couldn't even watch YouTube or download a bigger attachment from email. The food in the buffet(s) was good, with voucher entry to the other 2 restaurants available: - The upstairs restaurant was very nice too (1 voucher per every 5 or 7 days stay) - wish we could have gone more often - The one by the pool (1 voucher per every 3 days stay) was always the same food but good. Wish there was more variety The hotel was very isolated, so if you want to go out at night and walk to a high street then forget it. The entertainment in the hotel was ok. The games room could be so much better though! Walking around the hotel was very nice and relaxing, so it may be what you are looking for. Another strange one was the access to the Spa. We had a voucher (1 voucher per 5 or 7 days stay) but couldn't use unless we purchased equipment like hair protective cap. What's the point of providing a voucher if we then have to purchase stuff to use the amenities? It looked nice but mostly empty. The outside pools were nice, they were warmed too in colder days, which is excellent! They could benefit from more shades, though. There weren't enough for all the chairs and some of them were broken on top of it... I think there's no excuse, there were too many broken shades which gives the impression of abandonment, not what you expect from a 5 star Hotel. Excellent rooms and staff.

The hotels rooms are of a good size and the showers are huge compared to other hotels I’ve been to. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of variety. The hotel was lovely enough to surprise me with cake and champagne on my birthday. The thing I liked most about the hotel was the fact that it was away from all the hype and partying of Albufeira, it was a very peace and pleasant weekend for myself and my girlfriend.

Breakfast buffet quite nice, Moonlight restaurant quite nice, Dinner buffet not great and Moonlight bar not great. Moonlight bar expensive even though we only ordered virgin mojitos. Normally they cost 4-5 EURO. Hotel bar charged us 8 EURO

We liked eating outside at the buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner because it was shaded. Our kids loved the kids pool with the pirate ship and slides.

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff
First impressions - very nice, modern and clean hotel. Atrium is very big with a nice bar and lounge area. Staff very approachable and friendly. Room - very clean and sufficient for our needs. Pool - four nice sized pools for all types of guest. Food - not bad for an all inclusive. Its never going to be great but can complain really. Drinks - good selection of drinks Non-Alcoholic and Alcoholic. Staff - really friendly and helpful. Entertainment - lots of choices for everyone Negatives - Beds aren't that comfortable but that comes down to preference. Hotel is obviously understaffed e.g. lines of people waiting to get drinks every night. Things in rooms starting to fall apart and need slight refurb to bring up to standard e.g. sink waste pop-up broken Overall happy with stay but improvements could be made. Would be happy to stay again but maybe not for the price

Very nice hotel, rooms are spacious, lovely view.
Loved the hotel, staff were very friendly especially at the restaurant. The hotel seems more for business groups rather than family oriented. Didn’t like that you had to pay for use of jacuzzi and indoor swimming pool. Outdoor pools were a bit too cold for the kids. But still enjoyed our stay.

Perfect holiday
Close to beach, beautiful surroundings, the food is amazing, staff are all lovely and worth their weight in gold. Would recommend Salgados palace to anyone.

We stayed at the Salgados Palace for 7 nights. We had a lovely time - great place, spacious, ample pools and sitting by the pools - great food and drinks . .but Wifi is a big let down. it doesnt work in all areas and especially in our room - it only worked in the toilet - we called to get this fixed but we didnt get the required attention. There is an excellent kids club - but not much kids entertainment in the evening - all shows are at 10pm - which is late. Overall we had a great time

Lovely modern hotel, very relaxing stay.
Our aim was to have a relaxing week away with our two boys (8 & 4) and that's exactly what we got. Great pools, lovely variety of food, excellent drinks (branded spirits) and a super spacious and modern room with a fantastic view (sea view). The beach was lovely too, ideal for sandcastle building!! We also had a visit to Zoomarine, not far by taxi. A fabulous week, we hope to return.

Second time at this hotel, we enjoyed it even more than the previous visit. The kids love the pirate ship, slushes, meeting new people and they enjoyed the kids club. This gave my wife and I time to relax and enjoy the holiday also. The spa was really nice. Would recommend.

Great summer vacation!
Internet is only available on the inside and still, not very good. Not so many activities for both kids and adults. Buffet food could use some additional variety. On the upper side, staff is really great, as well as the rooms and the pools. Covered car parking, nursing facilities and great pools. Beautiful sunset

Really good hotel, had a very pleasant stay. Room was very comfortable, very clean, with plenty of towels and toiletries. The only downside for me was the view...I was on floor 2, directly over the restaurant, so my view was of the outside eating area, and not very private. The staff were helpful and polite, and overall it was a great place to stay.

5 star holiday resort close to golden beaches
This was truly a 5 star experience! The hotel was modern and clean, staff were super helpful, food was delicious and you are spoilt for choice with beaches nearby, 3 pools to relax by and a luxurious spa. I would definitely go back again.

The hotel is classed as a five star, I have been to four stars that are better than this hotel. Very impersonal, the pool area is grey, as is the pool, gray and uninviting. We have also been to five star hotels that make this one look like a three star!!! The bed was not as requested, I had to complain about dirty bed linen, the tea/coffee and mini bar were a joke!! The room was cleanish but definitely not polished!! We would not recommend this hotel and never stay again!!

Beautiful hotel with great facailities in the perfect location for a relaxed holiday. I stayed with a close friend and we had a Suite with Resort View. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfotable and luxurious. We had a large balcony, 2 x bathrooms, 2 x showers and 2 x toilets along with a living room and cosy bedroom with TV's in each. The hotel has 3 pools outside, a spa and plenty more. Well worth a try!

Overall fantastic stay
I have just stayed at the hotel for 5 nights with a friend and had an amazing experience. The pool area and facilities were great - very nice food at the pool bar and lots of options. Only bad thing I would say about the pool was its freezing as its not heated. Rooms exceeded expectations and the beds were so comfy. The breakfast every morning was fantastic with lots of choice - something for everyone. The only downside to this hotel was the location as its not right near the centre. It cost around 12 euros in a taxi to the Old Town. This was fine for us as we wanted a chilled holiday but if you were looking to go out a lot it may be more of an issue. Overall beautiful resort and it was even better than it looked on the pictures.

The pool was great! Lots of lounge chairs. The only complaint there was the amount of screaming children, but that's not the hotels fault. Breakfast buffet was extensive and pretty good. They need larger glasses though for water, etc. Lunch at the pool was nothing special, but if you had breakfast and dinner included, you could switch your dinner for the lunch restaurant, which was great because we wanted to go off of the property for dinners anyways. Room was nice and up to date. I would suggest that they use mattress covers under the sheets just for cleanliness purposes. Also, wish there was an option to have sheets washed when you wanted. The staff was really nice for the most part, but they take a little time to warm up to and they have a really hard time understanding American English. Julien at reception was very helpful when checking in and for making amazing food recommendations and reservations for us. We cannot say enough good things about the massages that my friend and I had!!!! Best massage I have ever had. Marta was great and spa facilities were nice as well. Make sure to make room requests before you get there!

Everything was perfect ... big rooms with big bathroom super nice golf view ... perfect food superfriendly staff .... only bad point is far from some other beaches and resthurants and no public transport in algarve please be aware in algarve u spend some money on taxy also visit the adventure park other water based activities specially don't forget have ur dinner at evaristo it's best fresh food and spectacular view around 6.30 to 9pm it's so romantic I love it better go by taxi we walked from our hotel to there around 40 min but middle wen to a beach .. about from that it's best hotel ... spend half day at at hotel pool and golf and night party stuff
