False advertising: 1864 Restaurant is only a dining area for a made to order breakfast only . No bar on site that serves cocktails . Staff was very friendly; but, we received no maid service for 4 days and had to call on day 4 to get fresh towels and have our trash removed. Very disappointed.

Very good option for staying in Ames! Super close to campus. The staff is really friendly and the room/bedding was very comfortable. The property just needs updating. Tons of safe parking. I’d stay here again without hesitation.

The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms layout was weird, some plugs didn’t work. The key barely worked. The side door didn’t work. The room we had was outside a side door and the light was outside the window making it very bright in the room at night. There is not a hot tub in the pool area. The gym equipment didn’t work.

Everything was fine when we checked in the first night but the next day we leave for a bit and we come back and the room card isn’t working so we go down and the receptionist asks what room we are in we tell her and she’s like so in our system it says tha you guys we’re in another room so I gave a key card to someone for your room and they walked in on you while you were sleeping. I’m sorry, what??? When we chose to stay there we were entrusting them with our safety. They let a random person into our room while we were vulnerable and sleeping. Mistakes happen but mistakes that puts my safety at risk cannot happen. Absolutely ridiculous! Very disappointed!

Very close to ISU and there are at least a couple of good restaurants around: Provisions Lot F and the Filling Station. The swimming pool has a good size and kiddie pool. No hot tub. Installation are clean and look kind of new. And I like that checkout is until 12 (some hotels around there checkout is at 11 )

The property was fine. But there were other issues…sheets didn’t fit the bed so kept coming off. The key card wouldn’t work in entering exit doors. The TV only had ONE channel (not good during final four basketball games). I understood they had free continental breakfast - no, everything was off $10 menu. When checking in the clerk didn’t cover hotel amenities, just processed the credit card and gave me room keys. The room was comfy but they only serviced every three days. Sorry, I forgot to leave a tip!

I have stayed several hotels near ISU while my kid attend there. This is the safest and sure thing. Love the convenience. The fridge and the sound of doors from other room tend to be noisy at a time, but overall it was comfortable.

i had to switch rooms as the tub still had ajax in it like they were going to scrub it and it was stained blue there was no blanket on the bed and the tv did not work. the fan heater was soooo loud and the refrigerator was dirty.. when i switched rooms it was way better and clean bed was comfortable

I went to the front desk and told the young guy about bugs in my room I asked if they had a bug swatter and he gave me a broom. There were only three cars in the parking lot he cold have moved me to a different room. The bugs were stink bugs if your aware.... Pretty unpleasant.

My 2nd time staying here. Im paying $5 more per night than last time but my room is awful. Last time I was given a 3rd floor room overlooking the parking lot like I requested. This time, a 2nd floor room that has a view of nasty roof vents and a stucco wall. The bathroom wasn't clean. The pillows are basically nothing but air. The room is next to the open balcony overlooking the lobby so everytime someone comes in it is easily heard. There is minimal water pressure in the shower. The tiles on the bathroom floor are cracked and in pieces which I pinched the bottom of my foot on the first night. The volume control on the tv remote doesnt work so I can't turn the volume down. The mini fridge is so lound and vibrates so much it is amplified when I try to sleep on my side because the vibration comes up through the bed. And now I have to listen to the stompers that are directly upstairs from me at 10pm, as they just arrived. Mind you, there's dozens of empty rooms so its not like shes putting people in the last available rooms. Apparently, I'm being penalized for using a 3rd party app instead of booking through them with their ridiculously overpriced rates (which she commented about at check in). The managers/workers who were here last time were much more accommodating. I won't make the mistake of staying here a third time. I wanted to leave after the first night but I wouldn't be refunded the rest of the stay. The gal at the desk my last night was the only good experience this tr
