The Jordan tower hotel is basic, but if you’re looking for somewhere just to be based for a couple of days, it’s in a very good location. Also the staff were very helpful, with breakfast included. But the location is very central, it means there is a lot of noise from outside, so bring noise cancelling headphones and/or earplugs. This of course isn’t the fault of the hotels and hostels around downtown Amman.

The location is great and right in with the locals which could be a good thing if you want that experience. It is a walk up so no elevator. The breakfast is decent and the wifi works. It seems like it is common to offer three twin size beds in most of Jordan. It was not a very social hotel during the time we went and the bathroom were small and tight and can get a bit uncomfortable after someone showers. The staff was nice and helpful for the most part, but they do ask about your plans and they usually try to sell you a tour or car service if you are looking for it. They did help arrange an early morning taxi to the airport. Uber is also an option too. I felt safe in the hotel. They offer a walking tour, but I did not do it as the times were not convenient with my schedule.

Great location and well priced.
This hotel is a great price and couldn’t be in a better location, just opposite the Roman amphitheater and a short Walk to the Citadel. It is right on Rainbow Street. It is basic but clean and well priced. Definitely great for backpackers or those on a budget. They serve a good breakfast and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a room with an en-suite and air conditioning.

Bad experience
The rooms are very dirty, you can see blood and other stain on the Matress . I had to cut my stay short. No phone in the room to call for any service you may need. And no elevators to go up and down must use stairs. The workers are nice and the manager is helpful . I try spoken to the owner who is not in the premises she was very very rude and would not even listen to me at all. She told me to go ahead and take your matter with hotel.com But over all the only thing is that it’s in the middle of town but that dose not mean there are no other hotel around . I was able to find a much better hotel with better room and location with lower cost which I was Surprise . Taxi is very cheap so you can easily go around for 1 to 2 JD . I honestly do not recommend this for anyone but one night stand lol.

When you arrived you were very moody and made unpleasant remarks to the staff. Yes we dont have an elevator you paid 10jd - what hotel has an elevator at that price...? We are a budget hotel- we market ourselves thus! We gave you a free upgrade with your room to make you happy - it was of course in vain. You demanded a refund because there wasnt an elevator and you didnt like the area... when you were told it wasnt possible you made threats to write bad reviews which you have since done. I want to point out - NEVER is our hotel as you described... how disgusting of you to state that. Our staff work hard to ensure cleanliness and we have standards better than many star rated places. The owner tried hard to be mediate with you and ensure your satisfaction but gave up when you continued your rant and threats.. Its sad you resorted to slandering our humble abode.

Best home base to explore Jordan! My friends and I stayed three nights at the beginning of our trip and two nights at the end. We arranged multiple tours and transportation through Jordan Tower. All of our drivers and tours were excellent! The facilities are simple and clean... the bathroom is on the smaller side and requires some adjusting, but it does the job. The staff is willing to go above and beyond to provide an excellent stay. Breakfast is provided daily and it. is. delicious! I’ve been home for three days attempting to recreate the “Arabic breakfast platter!” I can’t wait to return to Amman and Jordan Tower!

Very weak attempt at a Hostel
I really disliked this hostel. I cant believe its the most popular in Amman. 0 vibe, really old and crusty. There arent any tours only drivers which is a giant rip off. This was one of the worst hostels I have ever stayed at. Jordan is not a backpacker destination. Its much better to just get a cheap hotel and be a tourist.

Its a pity you didnt enjoy your stay like all our other guests - sometimes its just a personal perspective - and some people can never be pleased especially when they lose sight of the amount paid and what you get ratio .. Perhaps your expectations were too high for the $9 you paid - I dont know... Hostels in the middle east are not like hostels in Europe or the Oz for example, binge drinking and loud parties - so sorry for that if thats what you were expecting... we are more of a family oriented destination or for people who come to immerse themselves in local culture and traditions... Perhaps you should read upon destinations to know what to expect at places you stay.. Regarding our shared tours, they are enjoyed and appreciated by thousands every year - and not just from our hotel from many others around. I didnt get your point about just get a cheap hotel and be a tourist ... You did (how much cheaper did you want?) and you was a tourist... Our staff work hard to ensure the satisfaction of all guests and its unfair to be so mean spirited - as you are - you've written many (untrue) reviews like this about us...

Great location, but with flaws.
First, the positives. This is a hostel in a terrific location for a budget traveler, very close to the amphitheater and citadel and also near the market and food (try the Cairo restaurant). The included breakfast is excellent and the staff were nice. They will pick you up from the airport, arrange tours and rental cars. However, our tour was a bit disappointing as the driver was completely uncommunicative and we didn't even know where we were going. I think it would be better value to organise day trips via an actual tour group; not sure. I had to force him to stop for lunch even. And it was cheaper for us to simply get a taxi from the airport. The shower in the room was very tricky temperature wise, and made the whole toilet area wet cause there was no curtain. SLIPPING HAZARD. It's near the mosque so the call to prayer may wake you very early, like 0500 (but it's very atmospheric). Worst thing was that the room and even the bedding smelled of tobacco. Not good, and they should fix that. Another traveler at the same time mentioned it to us as well, and I know a gent booked a room with a private bathroom like us but was given a shared bathroom. Oh, and the wifi barely works, except in the eating area downstairs.

Good overall, clean but could use a few small things to bring it up to snuff. New toilet seats (current ones are peeling). They are no doubt clean, we saw them cleaning well throughout our stay. Fitted sheets on the beds. Non fitted just slide off throughout the night. Very good otherwis, great breakfast and great location.

Really happy with my stay here. I was a budget Traveller and in the end, the Jordan tower helped me see all the north of Jordan and saved me a bunch of money. There group tours worked out great and ended up being full, exciting days. I was in the twelve men's dorm. Bed was so so comfortable but the rooms were cleaned well and the hotel staff was quite knowledgeable and on point to help.

Thanks for taking the time to post your review of your recent stay .... we market ourselves as a 'budget hotel' and as such - the frills you deemed necessary are not included... However, since you are in the centre of the souk - you can buy at cheap prices whatever you wish. Regarding the opening hours..... the hotel has access 24/7 .... The main door is locked at 12 midnight - most people have been out and returned by that time - as there are no 'night club scenes' in Downtown Amman. However, had you have wished to go out and return later ... THE MASSIVE SIGN ON THE GLASS DOOR STATES IF DOOR IS LOCKED - PRESS THE BELL TO YOUR LEFT HAND SIDE FOR ENTRY.... Most people have read that without too much difficulty ... plus one can always ask for clarification .... Its so easy - better than getting the hump and leaving with complaints. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to clarify that.

Best Hostel of Amman
This is the best place to stay in Jordan. They are helpful with tours, they even have some organized tours at great prices at the hotel. They can help for transport or information on anything in Jordan. The beds are comfortable, I was staying in the ladies dorm. Bathroom there is only one per floor, but was ok. It was always clean. The location is the best!! Right downtown close to great restaurants, shopping and sights.

In the heart of Amman, this hostel is well located. I was in the girl's dorm and the room is nice, and comfortable bed + linens. A little noisy because of traffic outside. The breakfast was delicious , lots of food, good wifi, and the place is always super clean. Staff is really nice and always available . They have tours - I went to the dead sea with them, and the guide was fantastic! Totally recommend this place.

The Good. A good, relatively inexpensive and clean hotel in a great central location with helpful staff and a good breakfast. Good common area. Not So Good Lots of traffic noise as it has roads on three sides and no WiFi in rooms (which from other reviews is not a temporary problen). Shower went from warm to very hot in a flash. Overall The hotel/hostal met my expectations for a cheap safe place to stay.

Clean place but old and shabby. Nice breakfast.
My stay was comfortable, place is clean, central, and cheap. This place is quite old and worn and expedia provides misleading information about shared rooms. The shared rooms sleeps 8 people on 4 bunk beds and not two people as suggested by Expedia. Staff at Reception and Downstairs lounge are very nice. I was expecting a place with better conditions considering the top 20 ratings on tripadvisor. Expressing my dissatisfaction on Expedia's internal check-in review seemed to be a big mistake as I was met with a phone call from a very hostile owner after my first night. I'm rating this place 2 as hotel management need to accept that people are allowed to have different opinions of the place and deal with criticism with more dignity. Other than that, its a great place to meet like-minded travellers.

It's great to read you were happy and satisfied with our hotel.. We always try to go that extra mile to keep our guests happy. I know how difficult it is when your phone doesn't work and if that small irritating point can easily be remedied by using my phone... why not? It's all about ensuring all our guests feel welcome, happy and contented - we are a budget hotel lacking the 5 star luxuries - but we believe its the small personal things that also count towards a guests satisfaction... Yes, we run a business - but money isn't everything - the joy of knowing our guests are satisfied actually has no price-tag because its something money can't buy. Centrally located hotel in the heart of old Amman
This hostel/budget hotel is for everyone of all ages and budgets. It's centrally located and really clean and safe. There's a nice common area to hang out with other people in the hostel to exchange ideas, tips and travel experiences. I stayed at another more expensive hotel when I first arrived in Amman (mainly because I arrived after 1am and wanted a hotel transfer) which ended up a big mistake. I stumbled upon this hotel while walking around the Citadel and Roman Theatre area. I went inside and asked for help with a map and how to get around. The receptionist here was way more friendlier than anyone in my own hotel. After I rented a car and drove all around Jordan, I returned to stay here. The dorm room held 8 beds but only 3 of us were ever in there at a time and we got along great. Only downside is that AC must be on a central timer because we couldn't turn it on to take a nap in the afternoon after being in the sun all morning/early afternoon.

We appreciate you taking the time to post your comments regarding our hotel. It's very encouraging for us to hear you felt that much more satisfied with our hotel than your original one. Thanks for bringing the matter of the photos to my attention - very good point... we are in the process of arranging new ones. Regarding the a/c - yes its on a timer... If you had asked in reception they would have altered it for you.. most people are usually out until around 4 or 5pm that's why we do that to save energy. Never suffer in silence - always go immediately and ask for whatever you want - in any hotel - but especially in ours. If we have the ability to supply what you want - we are more than happy to do so.... Thanks once again for your kind and generous review it really does help others to choose the hotel they want.

Good value for money, nice breakfasts
This hotel is more like a hostel, but very friendly to western travelers. The people working there are happy to help you arrange excursions and you will inevitably meet other backpackers/solo travelers staying there, with whom you can split the cost of excursions to make things cheaper for everyone :) On the premise they also have a basic but decent cafe, which is clean and comfortable, and they make you feel very welcome to relax there, use the wifi, read, etc. I found the breakfasts (included in the cost of the room) to be a very nice touch as well. The staff was helpful in addressing and fixing some minor problems I had in my room, so definitely say something if you have an issue. Check if your room includes a bathroom or if you have to use the shared bathroom. I think it's worth the extra money here to have a private bathroom. As far as the location, it's great that it's centrally located, but as a single western woman I did not feel very comfortable walking around that area in evening/night, so I suggest you plan accordingly and definitely cover/keep a low profile as a tourist, and especially as a woman.
