I recently stayed in this hotel located in the heart of Amsterdam on the Singel canal, and while the location was fantastic and the room itself was comfortable and tastefully decorated, my experience was marred by the lack of attention from the staff.
Upon arrival, despite traveling with considerable luggage, no staff members offered assistance. Instead, I found them engaged in conversation behind the reception desk. Throughout my stay, there was a noticeable absence of greetings or acknowledgment from the staff upon entering or leaving the premises. It felt as though they were more preoccupied with each other rather than attending to the needs of the guests. Furthermore, seeing staff members smoking outside did not uphold a professional image.
In the room, attention to detail was lacking. The toilet frequently malfunctioned, and I discovered remnants of the previous guests behind supposedly clean towels, which was disappointing.
Overall, while the hotel boasts a prime location and the room was enjoyable, the level of service fell short of expectations. There's definite room for improvement in ensuring guests feel welcomed and attended to throughout their stay.
