Seems like your experience could have been better. We will address the issues you mentioned. We are a smaller venue and don't typically staff 24 hours. We do keep it clean and have larger cabins as well in addition to the petite cabin you chose if you need a bit more room.

Sorry you were disappointed. We do update regularly but we will check out your room and address any issues.

Oh yeah. Maine winters are hard on the paint and painting is tricky when guests are in all summer. However we have a painter coming next week when we close in October...so yes...we are pretty much a warm weather venue. Thanks for staying and do come back. Fresh paint - promise. !!!

Clean it was. We will address the smell. It has rained a lot in Bar Harbor this year so the humidity has been intense. We tend to get professional carpet cleaning fairly often.

Will definitely check out the smell. Don't usually have that issue. We do try to be helpful with your vacation.

Sorry about the cups. Our oversight. We also have them in our office as our drip thru coffee is popular. We are in the process of doing some upgrades as well.

Basic is good. We strive to be quaint without being lush...after all, it is a National Park. Sorry we did not catch you in the office...we offer lot's of advice on all types of venues. We strive to talk to all of our guests. We will perhaps put them in a list for late comers. Good idea.

Thanks for the review. Room 15 is closest to the highway (most of the motels have been built on the only road into Bar Harbor - but we are in the process of soundproofing that room which is newly renovated. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the kind review. We keep half of the rooms as dog friendly and the other half dog free. Will check that boxspring as the mattresses are ALL new in the last 2 years. Don't want any extra night noise. !!!

so sorry....we have never had an incident like that so we haven't really thought about it. We try to balance the cabins with subdued lighting but will look into additional landscape lighting.

It is a classic but retrofitted roadside motel and back in the day bathrooms were not as generous as they are today. That said...all beds and bedding were replaced 2 years ago.

we do like our canines and ANP is a rare national park that is dog friendly.
