upon arrival it was quite obvious that the pictures shown online are nothing like what the building or rooms look like. We travelled with a baby and a lot of bags which was difficult enough, but when we saw the size of the elevator to get to the 3rd floor we knew it was going to be a shocker. The elevator was only big enough to send 1 bag up at a time and it wasn't big enough to put the pram in, even with no one else or nothing else in the elevator! The room looked absolutely nothing like the pictures shown online. When i asked the receptionist why the pictures were very different she said that the pics online are from their best room when it was redecorated and it i wanted to see pics of the room we had booked and been allocated then i could have requested them. My family didn't feel comfortable staying at Casa Lirio so we asked for a refund so we could go to a different hotel and were told that they would not issue a refund under any condition. We eventually moved to The Grand Marina Hotel and had a fantastic stay. I couldn't recommend Casa Lirio any less, it was a shocker, and how they feel that they can use the word "Boutique" in their name i will never know!

Fantastic location, walkable to many important landmarks. Close to subway and bike rental, both recommended to get to far away landmarks. Rooms were stylish but basic with amenities. Il we loved enjoying the shared patio in the evening, it was quiet and peaceful. With the patio doors in our room closed, the street noise died away and sleep was easy. The only thing to note is the check in is slightly unorthodox. It was a little hard to find the door to the hotel on the little back street, going inside the foyer felt like entering an apartment complex. We had to find our way to a door on the first floor (one flight of steps up) and get buzzed in to the hotel “lobby”. It was a bit strange and I felt like I was in the wrong place. However, once I figured it out it was easy and I’m glad I stayed there! Just wish these details were clearer to avoid confusion upon arrival.

Staff was polite and friendly. Accommodations were as expected. Comfortable bed. Prompt daily room service and towel refreshes. Make sure you ask for a room with a window to the outside. But all in all, since we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room it was a solid experience.

The property is really comfortable and familiar. Small and very clean. We had a very nice experience at the Hotel. I want to thank to the receptionist Nina, the kitchen lady Elcira and the night reception guy Albert h., they made us to feel comfortable and always had the most amazing attitude and also they were very helpful at any request we had. Thank you to the whole staff.

I only stayed for 1 night but it was comfortable and sorta fun to find as it doesn't have much of a street presence. A wooden door within a door to enter and a short walk up marble stairs where I was greeted by reception for a friendly check in. Room was comfortable and has heating and cooling. Area was nice as well, short walk to lots of food and interesting sites.

Would have changed hotels in the middle of the stay if it had been refundable. Shower leaked, 1 person elevator, no towels in room, one roll of toilet tissue, no facial tissue, tv did not work and did not have an English option, only cleaned the room once during our stay. Staff was not the friendliest. Would not recommend.

Just a bunch of lies.The lift is for 400kg, so if it is for one person, has to be a very very big one.we have more than one paper roll if needed, and facial tissues in each and every room we haveHow is it possible to know if the TV has or doesn't have english channels while it is not working? We do have some but as obvious considering that we're in spain, most of them are in spanishWe have cleaning service every day from 10am to 3pm, but can't do it if you are in or if you have the do not disturb letter on the door.Considering all this lies, we asume that you had no real trouble with the staff and it is just one more o lieBest of luck finding somewhere else for your next visit

No Communication, I wasn't shared the code to enter the property beyond day 1. Luckily i came on time and met the cleaning crew at the door at night and the individual told me that my code was only valid for 1 day. And he shared the new code. Else I would have been stranded out for the night. Plus, when I left the note to for room service, there was no roof service. I came very tired in my room and no service, no towel. At that time, there was no way to get in touch with anyone. They only operate limited hours. Even when I complaint they told me that I didn't leave the note properly. I followed the instruction, and yet I had to suffer. Not a good way to enjoy the vacation. Plus the shower was not good. There was a gap between door and closure so when you shower water does come to room inside. Even when you call at night no one will pick up the phone so very important to note that. This is nothing but hostel. Not a hotel.

Hello,You put the paper the wrong direction, so we understood DO NOT DISTURB instead of cleaning service requested. But it was not our fault.. you did that.Your wouldn't have slept on the street as the code is only one of the options, so as you probably know, you have the keys that we gave you the very first day to open all doors...We don't get the point of such a bad review caused by your own mistakes

Recommended
For a two star hotel that is at a lower price point than others nearby, I was very impressed. Its an old building so lots of stairs and old fixtures and fittings but the bedroom was modern and recently renovated. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was big and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We even had a little balcony overlooking the outdoor terrace. I would definitely stay here again.

Very cute boutique! Everyone was so friendly. It was close to transportation and shopping. The girls loved the tub in the center of the room. It was clean and quiet . We’d stay there again.

You’d go to this place for their excellent location and accessibility to metro and old town. The room, and bathroom was super small. Bed was tiny and the mattress wasn’t the best. But the room overall was clean. The elevator could only fit one person with a luggage. I would recommend this place if you prioritize location over comfort.

Not what we were expecting and wouldn't recommend. We were dropped off by our taxi a few streets away as the hotel is located in an alleyway that he wouldn't access. On walking to the location we missed the entrance as it wasn't clearly marked. The alley itself was sketchy and didn't feel very safe. On entering the building there isn't an obvious reception or directions. We went up the stairs a floor and there we were greeted by the staff. The elevator fits one person to carry up luggage. The room itself was clean and decent. We got the "superior family room" which had a King size bed and a pull out double sofa for the kids (which was uncomfortable). The room setup didn't allow any privacy for a family to change, shower, etc. Frosted glass shower, toilet area which was semi see-through and open concept to the rest of the room. No blankets on beds or available so I had to use towels. There was an outside common area terrace that was nice. I was happy that we only stayed for one night.

Thank you for your comment. As for the taxi driver, he can perfectly drop off guests in front of the hotel door. We are working on improving the visibility of the hotel and the common facilities. We are sorry that the sofa bed is not as comfortable as the double bed, but as for blankets, we can provide guests with the blankets they want. In your case we did not receive any request for blankets. We are sorry to hear that your stay was not as pleasant as you had hoped.Best regards

Really nice and friendly boutique hotel in the gothic quarter. Easy walk to all areas including the beach. Only down side was the noise at night. The room was great with great A/C. Large rustic bathroom. Small for a superior room in my opinion I’d recommend this as a central friendly place to stay. Great bakery on the corner too

The neighborhood was very central and had lots of very good dining options. Employees at Lirio were very helpful. Lirio’s elevator was broken so we had to carry our luggage upstairs ourselves. :( Had no idea when it would be repaired.

A property in an old area of the city with good access to harbour, beaches and town. Front rooms may be noisy at times. Little time spent in room which generally was clean but needs some minor updates, shower head needs replacing, minor leak from shower into room and new batteries in remote!

Terrible ... do not stay!
This hotel is terrible. The ground floor is dirty and the lift does not work properly. The 'reception' on the first floor was a building site (see pic). The room was beyond basic and my door did not lock properly. This is really a 'hostel' and not a 'hotel'.

I loved this guesthouse!. We got there before check in time but the room was already for us. It was easy check in and the receptionist was really nice and friendly. Location is really good; near the gothic quarter, cathedral and the rambla. Few minutes walk from the nearest metro too. A lot of food places around. I really recommend this place.
