easy access to bus, metro, tram to go to most of the tour site. world's 50th best bar is right next on the corner. close to park and food alley right behind. they change bedsheets everyday if you leave your key to the front from 10~12. friendly & helpful receptionists. and yes, like in the other reviews you can hear the other room too loud, but with the price and the other services & location, it didnt bug me that much. i recommend this hostel.

Nice place to stay, a little bit smallr than I expected but very clean. Just across from the train station. Do not have to take taxi from airport. Beach is at the 20 min walk and subway is at 10 min walk.

I absolutely loved my stay. The hostal is strategically located in downtown Barcelona within walking distance to la Rambla, Cathedral, the Jewish and the gothic quarters. Wonderful coffee shop nearby with great coffee and even soy milk. Everyone spoke English. The hostal is very clean, comfortable and cosy. The front desk is open 24/7 so there is always someone there. The hostal is on the 3rd floor, lot of stairs. For those with knee problems or overweight this could be an issue. But for a healthy person, it is no problem. Friendly, helpful, and bilingual staff. I highly recommend this place.

I recently stayed here for 5 nights and loved every moment. The family run hostel and all who work here are friendly and charmingly caring. Their attention to detail and cleanliness makes for a luxurious and homely feel to what is a friendly and happy place. I would always stay here anytime I visit Barcelona and cannot praise them enough. Thank you

WE were promised breakfast and a bathroom in our room. When we arrived no breakfast and a shared bathroon with four other rooms. This is not good for people of advanced age and travel sickness. We had no phone or internet access to find something else and to complain to hotels.com. I don't know if it was the hotel who gave false information or not, but I was very clear when booking that we need breakfast and especially a bathroom in our room. I am hoping that hotels.com will try to make up to us for this terrible experience..

Clean and tidy 2 star.
It's a clean and friendly two star hotel. It's up two floors of stairs to the entrance and close to a relatively busy road but it was well located. The room was made up every day and always clean. Plenty of cafes for breakfast nearby and great location for sightseeing by foot.

this hotel was convenient, close to bus stops, a train station, stores and touristy areas and the beach. Rooms were tidy that cleaned every morning and had no problems with a shower, a bathroom and a bed. Staffs were really friendly and helpful.

Good value & good location
Although we got a room that is with a shared bathroom, we had no problems what so ever. The room, facilities and staff exceeded our expectations of what a hostel would have been! The location is perfect just a walk away from most of the prime locations.

Ideal for travellers who don't mind a bit of noise or the stairs (no elevator). Room was small too, but otherwise, perfect in every other way.

I booked this room for my goddaughter and her husband for their honeymoon. They loved the location, cleanliness and service. I was very pleased with the assistance, prompt response, and care for the room, as it was for newlyweds.

The Hostal was very clean and comfortable and completely renovated. Great value for the money as we got discounted rate of 50 Euro per night for a double room. Downside is that it is located in second floor and the building does not have elevator. So be careful if you go there with heavy luggage as you have to carry them up the stairs.

Below par, very outdated room, I do NOT recommend
There are a lot more negatives than positives during my 3-night stay. It turned out to be very pricy for the quality of the room even though it was below average at the time of booking. I would never recommend this place to anyone or I would never come back myself. Negatives: - Not so friendly/welcoming reception crews - Tiny room with very old/uncomfortable beds - Have to deal with all sorts of different odors coming from outside (sewage smell, food disposal truck smell) and from indoor (people smoking all the time especially at night, some unknown strong chemical smell most likely from the washroom) - Very noisy neighborhood (partying until 2am and garbage truck around 7am) - No cardkey system (no locking/unlocking lever inside.....requires physical key on both sides of the door to lock/unlock) The only positive I can think of is the location....located in the middle on heart of downtown and beach.

A hostal best suited for short stays
The hostal was simple, relaxed and was in a great location for connections to the metro or suburban trains. Some reception staff were also friendly and went out there way to help with what we asked them about but not all showed the same enthusiasm. The comfort of the bed and be improved and the WiFi didn't work for our entire stay. However the size of the room was a nice surprise plus having access to a balcony. We will be back for a short or weekend stay but this hostal may not be comfortable for more long term visits.

Good location in barcelona near the beach
This place is very well located near the beach and the nightlife. Barceloneta subway station is also nearby. The room was a little bit noisy but not too much. A/C works extremely well which is a must in Spain. Hotel has good wifi.

Great comfy, clean and basic hotel for good price
Great little hostel, incredibly quiet guests considering it was full. Very clean rooms, cleaned every day. I stayed 5 nights with my sister on a birthday holiday and had no complaints, twin beds, pillows a little hard, a/c, TV we never used, nice shower, hot water 24 hrs, hairdryer, liquid soap, spotless white towels each day, balcony. The street was noisey and there was an archaeological dig going on outside (brilliant) but I wear earplugs so no problem. My.only gripe was security to hotel and rooms, was non existent as front door left open and you grab your own keys when yoy enter. There is a safe in the room which we used for cards and passport etc so not a great issue.

This was a great experience. Everything was clean, nothing was dirty or falling apart. It's in El Born, which was the perfect location. It was within walking distance of many different things. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was really small, so that was probably my biggest gripe, but I didn't necessarily find a need for more room to sleep. For the price, I'd surely stay here again. If I did, I'd want a bigger room -for comfort, not for necessity.

Nice and clean hotel close to many attractions
The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean. The room has all utilities needed, a private bathroom and balcony. It's walking distance to the train station, to many restaurants, stores, tourist attractions and the beach. I would definitely recommend and stay there again.

I reserved the room with 3 beds because I was traveling with my 17 years old son and my brother but they gave me queen/twin room. They have to put another bed that blocked the whole room. The balcony door did not lock. 3rd floor and mo elevator.

This is a good place to stay at if you just need a place to sleep. It is very close to the metro station Barceloneta and various other attractions. Overall it was nice to have my own room to crash in but would have preferred to have a more friendly hostel experience with the opportunity to meet people.

We were, 3 persons remained in triple room for only two nights.The place is amazing, we all loved it, the service is perfect, people are so hospitably, polite and helpful. Cleaning is top they cleaned the room and everything was provided This will be our place from now on in Barcelona. Recommended to all my friends. Location is perfect inside the lively street but not noisy and extremely comfortably. My best regards to the great people from the hostal :-) wait for me again

Great location for a great Barcelona experience.
A perfect locatio for a stay in Barcelona. Very close to station Franca and the Gothic area. Lots of small streets and squares offering a wide selection of traditional food. Close to La Rambla and city park with the most amazing fountain and the Arch. Couldn't have picked a more perfect location. The hostel might not be for everyone but for me it was perfect. Clean , nicely decorated and felt personal.

Our room was clean, but smaller than anticipated. The shared bathroom got very dirty shortly after people showered and the floors in the bathroom were always soaking wet. Overrrall, not bad location is good but cleanliness has a bit to be desired.

Nice simple room close to the centre
The hotel is across the street from the Franca railway station, in the Born district, so great location. It's a small facility on the 3rd floor (or so) of the building. Staff were friendly; we got there well before check-in time planning to leave our luggage, but were able to check in. The room was of modest size but clean and comfortable. Our room faced onto an alley and was quite despite the fact that the building faced onto a main street. (I don't know about other room; the hotel does not occupy the entire floor, so noise may not be a problem with any rooms.)

The rooms on the third floor are great - no noise was heard from outside rooms (I heard the people walking around in the room above during the middle of the night but nothing excessive). Own personal shower/sink in the room with a shared toilet/bathroom right next door. The shower in the room was tiny so it was relatively hard to use but nothing terrible. Clean, comfortable, quiet room. There are rooms that face the street which are very loud at night, so it depends what room you get.

Great location, overall exceeded my expectations for a hostel. The room was clean, with own personal shower/sink and shared toilet in a separate bathroom. A bit noisy at night (from cars/people outside) if you get a room facing the main street. Good option for a single traveler needing a cheaper place to stay.
