The hotel and specially the breakfast buffet are very good, location is closed to attractions, unfortunately the street in front was under construction and on the (vacant?) Building 50 meters from hotel homeless people sleep on the street and smells like they urinate on floor.

This property is stuck in the 1950's. The decor and design are dated. The property is comfortable but nothing special. The location is excellent for access to other areas of the city. There is a bus stop immediately outside the front door and there is a Metro subway station located less than a 3 minute walk away. Access to Barceloneta and the Gothic Quarter as well as Port Vell make the location excellent. The staff is accommodating but do not go out of their way unless asked. There is not a restaurant onsite, but the breakfast is adequate. There are not any retail shops located in close proximity to this property. All-in-all, you get what you pay for.

It was convenient to the metro, which made getting around Barcelona easy. It was also convenient to the cruise ship dock which enabled us to stay a bit longer in Barcelona seeing the sights.

Excellent location
Excellent location close to the metro station, 10min walk to Gothic area and right next to the harbour with very nice walk at night. Friendly and helpful but the beds are not very comfortable. Otherwise, I will book it again!

BAD AC so Sleepless in Barcelona at the Hotel MAR
Room 102 was provided and the A/C was bad and could not keen the room comfortably cold. Sleeping at night was miserable. Soon after I arrived, I asked for the AC to be checked. The reception never hit back to me tl let me know if problem was fixed. I only stayed two nights so I didn’t pursue the issue. I just sleep without any civets. Clean room , clean bathroom , great view of the Plaza Pau. But no AC which made made it BAD AC so Sleepless in Barcelona at the Hotel Del Mar.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I liked that the hotel was not far from the sea, many restaurants in the Old City and the harbour, and that the Metro was a short walk away. I will be staying at Hotel Del Mar on my next visit to beautiful Barcelona.

I loved how central this hotel was to everything. I stayed there for 8 nights and was able to walk everywhere! Room was a little small, but since it was just me I did not mind. I loved having a balcony that faced the street so I could take in the scenery and hang out there.

Nice Hotel, Great location
A perfectly acceptable hotel, in a great area - the only downside is that the hairdryer is one of those built in things that are not great - but other than that, is a great low cost option for the area.

Great location ! In between the beach and gothic quarters, it’s within walking distance of everything I wanted. Also, as I was staying for more than a week, I asked to have a room with a balcony and the front desk was great at accommodating my request! Property is a bit old and would need some updating, but my stay my fantastic otherwise.

Beautiful hotel and very impressed with it and very close to everything and the hotel management was wonderful at making sure anything we needed was available and they're high-speed internet was beyond great

Great view
Great view to the harbour, the rooms was considerable big for 3 persons. The breakfast has not the best but overall very nice places to eat near by.

Good location, clean and we felt Covid safe
The hotel is in a good location to explore Barcelona. The stop for the open top bus is nearby. We felt Covid safe at the hotel. Masks were worn in the hotel and gloves were also worn at breakfast. The breakfast had a good selection of food and drink. We had a balcony in our room which was a nice surprise and we were on the top floor. The hotel wasn't too busy and it wasn't noisy at night.
