Great hotel for the money. Lots of rooms under renovation when we stayed. They tried to put us in a room at the side of the hotel on a floor where 4 other rooms were being worked on. I went immediately to reception and stated I wanted a different room, at the front, on a higher floor. There was bit of frowning but they accommodated us and our room (804) was perfect. We were only expecting continental breakfast so nice surprise there was a hot buffet too AND prosecco should need a Buck's Fizz to get you going in the morning.

My experience of the hotel was nice and relaxing! Room and facilities were clean and comfortable! Excellent restaurant and reception staff. My only 2 concerns I have about the hotel was that: One of the bar staff was rude to me when I ordered a cup of tea! I wanted one cup of tea but was given a pot of tea! I said I only wanted a cup. When I realised it was the same price for a cup and pot, I changed my mind and told the bar staff! The bar man pulled his face and lost his temper slightly with me. My only other concern is that I would expect the hotel reception staff to have more knowledge of transfers from the hotel to the airport. Even thought it would not concern them directly, I found their assistance with me on the day I was due to depart, not very helpful! One of them made it clear that they should not be phoning the transfer company on my behalf as it was ringing abroad which I understand, but I had no mobile as it had been stolen. Other than this, I found my experience at the hotel was wonderful and I would definately recommend it to a friend and would stay there again myself one day.

Lovely hotel but food NOT 4* standard. no 'live' cooking unlike Sol Costa Blanca Hotel few yards down the road. If Anything the food was better at lunchtime but very poor in the evening! everything is lukewarm! Chips were vile ! Served up heavily breaded cold chicken breasts like you get in Iceland, four in a box for 99p! Desserts very uninspiring! if you are paying for 4* standard as you are at the Cimbel then stay at the Sol Costa Blanca Hotel! Stayed at the Costa Blanca for past few years but thought we'd have a change! BIG MISTAKE!!! Be warned!

Best thing about this hotel is its location, close to the beach, night life and the old town. Used mainly for Spanish holidaymakers so you don't get any British lager loudmouths! We went half board but on reflection would probably do bed and breakfast next time. A very peaceful and relaxing stay.

The Cimbel is a really nice Hotel but it is badly let down by the awful lifts that are way too small and very slow for a 12 story building, also the wifi is very very bad and also frustrating, we gave up trying to use it……..

Nice hotel, small in comparrison to many others throughout the resort. Room keys continuously failed to work and had to keep getting replacements. Breakfast was ok, lots of choice hot and cold foods.

I stayed at the Cimbel for 3 nights, I had booked half board. The reception staff greeted me as I arrived and efficiently booked me in, I was pleasantly surprised that he remembered my name when I went down a couple of hours later to sort out my safe. As it was the first week in March the hotel was far from full so I was upgraded from a single at the rear of the hotel to a huge double with balcony and sea view.The room was very spacious with a walk in wardrobe and a good sized bathroom. There was a mini bar fridge but slightly disappointed that there was no tea/coffee making facility. The hotel boasts one of the only pools to front on to the promenade, it was very pleasant and very well serviced by the waitress who was constantly on hand if you needed a drink. I would imagine its a bit small and cramped in summer though. For breakfast there was a good selection of cold meats and cheese and various rolls and croissants for the mainly Spanish and Dutch guests but also bacon eggs tomatoes and some really nice chorizo type sausages which suited me. Dinner was waiter served and consisted of 4 courses, with at least 3 choices on each course. One meal I had was Vegetable soup then smoked salmon followed by duck a l'orange, finished of with fuit and ice cream. All in all I was delighted with my choice of hotel and would be happy to stay there again. Very good value for money.

Lovely position right on the front and great sea views from the large balcony. Beds very comfy! Breakfast was buffet style with enough choice. Evening meal was waiter service but not sure if this is usual or just as not many guests at the time. Food was well presented , freshly cooked and waiters attentive and pleasant. Room had fridge but no tea/coffee facilities which would have been nice. Would stay again

Hotel is in perfect position overlooking the beach
That's the good point, we would give it 5 out of 5 for that. I traveled with my wife who is gluten and dairy free, we did state this when booking the Hotel but got no feedback on this point. We arrived on a late flight about 8.00 pm and rushed to get a meal in the Restaurant by 9.00 pm End of service was 9.30 pm and they were clearing up and getting ready for breakfast. It was a set meal and they knew nothing of my wife's gluten and dairy free diet, they did find her something to eat:- soup, they served her up what looked like weak stock, tasted and looked like warm water! next course was salad followed by plain grilled fish. The Service that evening was appalling, plates and cutlery were just thrown on the table, sadly our waiter was more like Manuel in Fawlty Towers than a 4 star service. We ate in the Restaurant 3 times in all because of the difficulties and our lack of knowledge re eating in the resort and they had no gluten free bread or soya milk and no suggestions during our stay. The service was slightly better with other waiters but not 4 star. Otherwise our stay was pleasant.

Ok hotel with excellent position.
We thought that the hotel having a 4star rating should at least provide tea and coffee families in the room. Breakfast was very good but the evening meals were not that good and the service was also lacking. They also did not cater for gluten free diets as we were informed before booking.

Hotel was ok, I wouldn't go there again, the breakfasts were average, coffee machines broken or dispensing tepid coffee, drinks were expensive and staff weren't over helpful or friendly, the men who manned reception were terrible but there was a young woman on reception who was very good. It's not really a 4 star to be honest, maybe a 3 star maximum, however the location was very good, right in the beach walkable distance to all of the local amenities

Hotel Cimbel is opposite the beach in Benidorm, good communal area, good service. But, terrible single rooms at the back of the hotel ( city view), dirty disgusting carpet (room 111), very old and dirty chair, cold air draught from the window, rusty old bath. And very rusty radiator in the bath.

Very nice hotel, oozes 4 star quality throughout although the restaurant lets it down. Strange hours, opening at 8am for breakfast is too late, 1.30 for lunch ??. Dinner at 7.30 is acceptable but 7pm would be better. Pool clean and well maintained.

My friend and myself stayed at the Cimbel Hotel in September, the hotel location was superb, staff on reception were ok , we asked for a sea view wich they accomodated so was very pleased , we were allocated a room on the first floor corner which was nice it had a large balcony only problem was that you also had in front of you a view of the solar panels. The breakfast was typical buffet continental and cooked so say was avarage. We were only B&B so enjoyed eating out in the old town of an evening. The hotel catered for the Spanish and the entertanment was spanish mostly for the more mature person... the tv stations were also spanish and only had sky news in English. We had to be out of our room for 12pm and was not getting picked up till 6pm, the hotel did not have a courtesy room which was annoying as we had to get ready in the toilets or pay an extra 18 euro till 2pm!!! .... they wouldn't even let us off with a bottle of water for 1.5 euro!! .. The hotel staff could have made us feel more welcome and also have asked if we had enjoyed our stay.

Location exactly what we were looking for. Not what I expected for a 4* hotel, furniture in bedroom rather 'worn', would benefit from a re-furbishment. Only had breakfast once, again very 'basic' for a 4* Hotel, have had omelettes cooked fresh (in front of you) certainly more variety in other Hotels in Benidorm.

Stayed at The Hotel Cimbel for our annual February break. Chose this hotel because of where it is situated. As a couple in our 40's we like to have fun and get out but also want to stay in a more peaceful hotel away from the rowdiness you can get in Benidorm. Our first impressions were great & the room was nice, we had a good nights sleep on the very comfortable beds but then woke to find the room next door was being renovated. Not just a lick of paint......men with drills, drilling holes in our balcony side, hammering, shouting & when they were drilling, big clouds of swirling dust flying past our window & covering the balcony. We couldnt open the sliding doors to appreciate the sunny weather & of course that view (the reason we chose this particular hotel). I had hung my cardigan out to dry as i had a spillage of orange juice at breakfast, we went out walking for the day only to come back to everything covered in concrete dust...including my clothing. I went to reception to report this and expressed very calmly my upset, the young man was polite and explained that as it was Friday the workmen would not be working over the weekend and therefore we could have peace & quiet....!!!!! This was all well and good but why let guest stay in a room next to a demolition site in the first place. We work very hard & save to pay for our trips away and was so looking forward to a few days relaxation unfortunately we didnt get that at the Hotel Cimbel.!!!

Nice clean hotel, right on the beach
We stayed here for a friends birthday, hotel staff were very helpful, we arrived early (there were 12 of us in our party) but we were able to check in immediately. The rooms were spacious and clean, we had a problem with our patio door but the staff sent someone up straight away to deal with this. Breakfast was ok with a good range of items on offer. We would definitely stay there again. Benidorm itself was very busy for this time of year (February), plenty of bars and restaurants to chose from.

I have stayed in many different hotel in Benidorm,this hotel was really the one I wanted to stop in ,I always used to walk past and think why didn't I book that again,to be honest I have always been carefull in choosing so I have not been disappointed yet in other hotels but the CIMBEL is the best !

Very Nice Place - but bring your own orange juice!
There's a supermarket nearby, suggest you buy a carton of normal orange juice to take to the breakfast buffet. They still use that grim bright coloured sugar solution that was popular in hotels in the 1970's when orange juice was still considered a rare luxury. A small quibble for a nice, very well looked after hotel. A tower block on a personal scale with only 11 guest rooms per floor. Only 1 of the 11 face the back and I think some of them are single rooms, so well worth asking for a sea view if they're not busy
