Quiet And Convenient Location
A lovely older property with high ceilings and large windows in a quiet residential area beside the river Spree. Conveniently located with a short walk to the Metro station ; roughly a three minute walk and 5 minute train journey to Central Berlin, or a very pleasant 35 minute walk along the river with several bars and cafes along the way. The center of old West Berlin is a 15 minute walk through the Park beside the Zoo. The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful always smiling and happy to help.

A great hotel on a very quiet street next to the Spree. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My only wish is that they had different bedding. Synthetic sheets make sleeping temperature a challenge for me. I would however highly recommend the place.

Lovely boutique hotel with excellent breakfast.
This boutique hotel is very special, and a wonderful choice in Berlin. It's in a quiet, residential neighborhood, on the river Spree. It's just a 5-minute walk to the metro. The staff is fantastic. Extremely helpful, and very accommodating. The rooms are sparsely but tastefully furnished. The lobby area is comfortable and is a wonderful showcase for art. Breakfast is terrific, and a great value. Definitely get the breakfast buffet option.

an oasis of art and peace
A haven of peace in a not too sophisticated area. Entrance is not the most welcoming but the rooms and facilities are excellent value. Breakfast so good for the cost and always plenty of art to enjoy. Will return

The hotel is modified from an apartment and mix with local residence. Parking is on the street. It is not easy to find a parking spot. The facility is very old. However, it is in a very good location. Closing to all major interesting points and airport. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Great hotel - large modern room in old building
This hotel was great. It’s in an old building with newly remodeled rooms. The traditional high ceilings are very nice. The large room and modern bathrooms are great. The breakfast is great and very reasonably priced. It’s a few minute walk from the Tiergarten S Train Station. Not many restaurants or shops very close by, but it’s a quiet area next to the river.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff in a central location. The room was modern and comfortable. The hotel has a quirky relaxed style and nice breakfast buffet. There's a train station a 5 minute walk away. There were plug sockets beside the bed which was very convenient. While the bed was very comfortable the pillows are too soft. The hotel is not very accessible to wheelchairs as there are some steps to the front door.

Hotel is 2 minutes walk from SBahn, in a quiet neighborhood. The hotel is in an older building, and the rooms are nicely set up. Some might be more spacious than others. The personnel is very friendly and knowledgeable. The German breakfast is great.

The man behind the desk knew everything about the Berlin cultural scene; sophisticated taste in concerts and food. Breakfasts were a great deal and just right before a business meeting

Ideal location, amazing knowledge of the city
Hansablick Hotel is very well placed - 5 minutes walk from a S-Bahn station which covers 4 lines - all of which are 3 stops from Friedrichstrasse. Room spacious, bathroom perfect. Breakfast excellent and cheap. Herr Prinz was usually at reception and he took a personal interest in our visits to the Berlin Highlights. He is urbane, speaks perfect English and has a detailed knowledge of where to go in the city - and how to get there. He hugely increased our enjoyment of this amazing city. The hotel backs onto the river Spree and we had a good evening walk along the river for dinner in the Lanniger restaurant, first class but pricey.

Quiet, scenic location on the river and close to SBahn & UBahn (which has a grocery store). Staff are pleasant and professional. Breakfast offers an abundant of hot and cold options. Larger room is the best - plenty of space including a big bathroom. Perfectly comfortable beds too! We will definitely stay here on our return to Berlin.

Fantastic hotel with free parking. Right next to public transport, although only a 40 minute walk through park/along main road to Brandenburg Gate, or a 20ish minute walk to the Zoo/shopping area.

The staff are fantastic. The pillows were the only thing I would recommend you should change. They are very soft and offer no support. But overal we loved our time at the hotel, your staff are your major asset.

This is a wonderful hotel!
I was in Berlin for a few days on business and picked this place because of location and price. It turned out to be wonderful! The desk staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent. It's also a 3-minute walk from the Tiergarten S-bahn stop, which is only 2 stops from the Hauptbahnhof. The only quibble is that it's an old-school hotel made out of either a boarding-house or several floors of converted flats, and you can see the transition has left some telltale signs. But I greatly prefer the homey quality of Hansablick over the more sterile places that seem to be increasing in number in Berlin.

Quaint hotel near city centre and transit
Really liked the hotel room (we had room 404), the lobby, staff, etc. Very enjoyable stay. Right off the river so you can walk along the river. It's a 3 minute walk to the S-Bahn (above ground subway), and 10 min from the U-Bahn (subway). Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The lobby and room is full of original artwork and there is a beautiful flower garden outside. The breakfast and breakfast rooms were very nice. They spoke English very well. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Great People and Great Value
This is a smallish boutique hotel in a very quiet neighborhood in Berlin. The structure is older and possibly part of an apartment or condo building, but it's beautifully up dated. It's not a luxury hotel if that's what you're looking for but if you want great value, nice people and a wonderful breakfast, you'll be thrilled you stayed here. During your visit, don't overlook the spectacular original art that fills the walls in the dining and common areas. We will definitely come back!

This hotel was just fine, but it is in an out of the way area. It is close to the train, but the restaurants in the area were very limited. They serve an excellent breakfast in the equivalent of a small art gallery. It is a lovely setting.

Great stay!
Not a luxury hotel, but clean, convenient, and comfortable. High value breakfast, comfy beds, high ceilings, and location was awesome. The area was quiet, and allowed us to see much more of Berlin than expected- it was close to river, beautiful park, delicious German restaurant, and very easy to navigate public transportation. Very happy with the hotel and would definitely stay there again if in Berlin!

Living conditions are not exactly overwhelming (windows in ground floor rooms are level with the street, fitness room rather unusable, buffet only cold and -- if you reserve at Expedia -- NOT included in the price), but still it is a nice place to stay thanks to its really good location between the Spree and the Tiergarten. The staff is really outstanding, extremely attentive, helpful and warm.

Wonderful experience!
5 minute walk to Tiergarten train station. This was very convenient as we are from Canada and wanted to use public transportation. Front desk was amazingly helpful and really made our visit special. They provided us with maps and circled our stops. Room was bright, airy and clean. Our room faced an inner courtyard and we could hear the birds chirping get fresh air. Breakfast had good variety and served in an elegant set of rooms. Located beside river canal making for pretty strolls. All in all exceeded expectations. The building itself is of course quite old, so if you want sleek and modern, this is not it. If you love character and lovely people - come here!

Our stay was good in Berlin and in this hotel. From subway station it is bit far but can be reached. The train station Is just 2 minutes walk and the train frequency is very good to city and anywhere in Berlin. You do not have restaurants and pubs near by. It is better to finish the dinner and come as it is in a residential area. The hotel staff and reception are very helpful and hotel is clean and quite. In the bathroom we always had ciggerette smoking smell always and not sure about it. Overall it is good hotel for the price.

I can't praise this hotel enough. From the large airy room and bathroom, the friendly staff who were always helpful. The breakfast had everything you could ask for, hot meatballs, sausages and scrambled egg. Lots of fresh fruit, cereal, cooked meats and bread. All the food was fresh and plentyful. Drinks of fruit juice, water, teas and coffees all very tasty. Last but not least was the art work, all so stylish, my favourite was Charles and Camilla, I would have loved to take them home with me, I settled for a postcard instead. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in Berlin and I will recommend it to my friends and family.

Very comfortable hotel in great location
Don't be fooled by the 100 year-old building - this is a very nice, very comfortable hotel. The staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful, the breakfasts are delicious, and it's on a quiet street with a great view of the Spree. It's only a 5 minute walk to the main S-Bahn line through Berlin, and you can be in the middle of town in 20 minutes. The rooms have been modernized - the bathroom is clean and up-to-date. Our room had large windows so it was very light, it was large and nicely laid out. All that, and at a very reasonable price! The S-Bahn line goes direct to most of the places you'd want to visit - Potsdam, the main train station, Friedrich Strasse, the Museum Island - and trains run every 3 minutes or so. We had a Berlin Card, so we had unlimited use of the transit system, so the location was no problem. There's a walking path along the Spree that goes right by the hotel.

Great hotel in Berlin
Spent three nights here and really enjoyed it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location about 5 minutes walk from Tiergarten station. Very good value. Walls in the hallway and stairs of this converted building are not yet finished but rooms are clean and bathrooms are new and excellent. Breakfast is very good by continental standards. Would definitely stay here again when returning to Berlin.

Traditional friendly hotel
We chose it after reading various reviews and were not disappointed. We loved the high ceilings and old fashioned style, but slightly quirky feel it had, largely due to all the art in the public areas. Our room was an adequate size, though not large, but because we looked on to the courtyard it was very quiet, and the beds were very comfortable, so we slept well! We stayed four nights, and had breakfast at the hotel each morning. The choice was excellent and the staff always friendly and helpful. It is in a quiet area, and while there is not a huge choice of restaurants nearby, we did eat at three different places, all walking distance from the hotel. The train and underground services are a short walk away, and on the first day (when there was a train strike) we did in fact walk all the way to the Brandenburg Gate and further. However, we caught the 100 bus most of the way back!
