"We stayed here for three nights when up to see the illuminations. The guest house was closer to the Tower, sights and coach station than we had anticipated, which was welcome. The guest house was very quiet - could hear neither traffic outside or guests inside. A very comfortable stay.
"I was only staying for one night. Friendly greeting on arrival. All the public areas were fairly modern and well kept. There was good service and food in the bar I used and the prices were reasonable. The single room I had was very clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. There is hotel parking at a cost but I used the public carpark at the top of the road. ( I can imagine parking might be a bit more difficult in the really busy season.) The area around the hotel is a little run down in places but don't let that put you off. You can probably walk to the promenade in about 6 minutes with everything it has to offer. I would be very happy to stay at the Ruskin again."
