"This is a perfect getaway! The setting is absolutely serene and stunning. The cottage is nestled on a rock overlooking the lake, and is very private. A winding and scenic path takes you down to a sandy beach, in a beautiful little cove. The cottage itself is well supplied and very comfortable! It has a rustic charm to it. The large screened in porch was a great place to spend time as a family. This was an actually very relaxing vacation!"

Location = private and remote on a steep dirt road, yet 20 min to Sugarbush, 30 min to Bolton, and <15 min to both Waterbury and Waitsfield centers. "We’ve stayed at this cottage four times now - great location - Dave is a good host and communicates well. Peaceful spot and can’t beat the view. It’s also easy to get to Burlington or across to New York depending on what you’re looking to do."

"Beds were comfortable and the 3 season porch was a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the view of the water from the house. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes. At night we could hear tree frogs calling on the other side of the road, which was fun. There's also a park nearby with walking trails, and a grocery store close by. Zachary's Pizza is also close and we had an excellent pizza there. It was about 20 minutes to downtown Burlington. A very relaxing place to stay, so glad we found it!"

"This was an amazing spot for our extended family of 11, ranging in age from 10 to 80. The house, and exterior decks/patios, was spacious enough so that you could find a place to yourself whenever you wanted. "Our second stay at Baxter's Hideaway was just as wonderful as the first. Albert is very responsive. The property very clean and well-equipped. The proximity to the bike trail is great. With beautiful weather we meandered along Church Street Marketplace in Burlington each night (highly recommend!). If you want to eat dinner in Burlington we recommend making reservations well in advance. We will definitely return again next fall!"

The kitchen was well-stocked in terms of dishes, cutlery, pots & pans. The only potential issue is that the stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms are very steep, as others have noted, and our dog wasn’t able to climb them.
