The Port Palace is a lovely hotel, or rather collection of bedrooms, all facing the harbour, with a reception area and small bar on the ground floor and restaurant on the sixth floor.
The room was spacious and very clean, with fridge and mini bar, large bathroom and bathrobe. It was a shame there were no complimentary slippers. There is a turndown service in the evening. Some amenities in the bathroom were not replaced.
The main drawback for some might be that the rooms only have one road between them and the harbour, which also forms part of the Grand Prix track, so during my stay in April, some evenings it was noisy outside with locals deciding to have a race on the “track”.

For the price we paid, the condition of the room was not at all satisfactory! We would expect a lot better for this price range! Everything was extremely old and dated - from furniture, to very uncomfortable fold out chair-beds for the kids, to bathroom, to towels, etc. We believe the room we booked was not what we received either. The owners should consider upgrading the room decor and furnishings.
However, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating and the location was great. So if that is your focus, it will do.

An excellent spot. Apart from the beauty of the property, food, wine, the staff were amazing . Especially the concierge team who helped and recommended the best outside restaurants and places to visit!
