Lovely boutique hotel with an attentive staff which ensured your stay was memorable. Delicious breakfast, spacious rooms, great location as it is a few blocks walking to Dorp Street’s restaurants and shopping. Two pools with comfy loungers for chilling out post-vineyard visits. Across the street is easy access to hiking/biking trails.

Service was initially quite poor. Front desk thought we hadn't paid in advance, when we had, and they wouldn't allow my wife to check-in without paying again pending my arrival a few hours later. They also didnt have any sparling wine in the bar and I was tild the next delivery was in 2 days time. To be fair the did eventually go and buys some locally but after me suggesting it might be a good idea! I have stayed here quite a few time over the last 20 years and it is looking tired, poor maintenance of gradens and building. It all needs a little TLC!

Loved staying at River Manor! Both comfortable and charming, this was the perfect place to enjoy Stellenbosch. The room was huge and had a gorgeous balcony, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Excellent value, I’ll stay here again on my next visit.

Beautiful setting
Wonderful stay at River Manor Boutique Hotel - the setting and service were fantastic. Location was fantastic - just a few mins walk into Stellenbosch. Communal spaces were beautiful and the breakfast was delicious, with a lot of options. Only suggestion would be to redecorate the bedrooms - the bathrooms feel a little tired.

Beautiful hotel and nice staff/service, however, for the price we paid, we were expecting more. When we were taken to the room for the first time, they showed us some battery powered lamps to use when the power goes out. This was our first time hearing this. Power went out EVERY NIGHT from 10:00pm-12:00am and then 6:00am-8:00am. In addition, there were a lot of flies all over the common areas but mostly over the food in the breakfast counters. I would recommend getting a backup generator and some type of fly catcher or control to make the hotel experience better.

This is a wonderful property with great places to relax indoor and outdoor around beautiful grounds and pools. The staff is so welcoming and caring, there was genuine energy and positivity from everyone. One of the best stays in a hotel we've ever had, highly recommend.

Convenient location in Stellenbosch
This is a great hotel in a really convenient spot about 2 blocks from the main area of town. What you get for the price represents outstanding value in my opinion. Our room was superb, breakfast was great, the team were all lovely and helpful. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The property was so beautiful, decorated and furnished very tastefully, with a lovely 'colonial' ambiance. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly, even offering to iron clothes for us and bringing drinks to the room. The bedroom and bathroom were stunning, with huge proportions, which is so nice when you are staying somewhere for a week; you do not want a room to feel poky! The breakfasts were delicious and the provision of a bar in the evening was a lovely touch. Stellenbosch is beautiful and this hotel would certainly be our first choice if we were to visit again.

The best hospitality I have ever experience at a guest house. The staff were amazing and helpful. The location, room and facilities are perfect for visiting Stellenbosch.

An oasis in the middle of town
A beautiful quiet place, lovely clean rooms, great breakfast, town center walkable within minutes. All in all just perfect. Highly recommended for a stay in Stellenbosch!

Overall disappointing accommodation at this hotel. We booked a deluxe room and paid a high premium. After a shower the bathroom smelled of drains. As I was desperately trying to find a socket where the hairdryer fitted, water started pouring down the wall from the air conditioning unit. In the end I dried my hair in the hall using our own adapter?! Room faces out front and was noisy. Staff friendly but they should have moved us. I didn’t know the price until after we left otherwise I would have demanded to be moved.

Picture Perfect
An exquisite stay in a stylish residence that’s in the heart of it all. Every corner you turn is picture perfect. The staff and sweet and kind and even though the property is compact it has an exclusive feeling still of intimacy while also able to have your privacy. The 2 pools are lovely and the made to order breakfast is delish. Don’t skip the sweets either. Highly recommend for both young and old.

Really lovely hotel a few mintues walk from the town centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for visiting vineyards and service was excellent. Could have stayed here longer than 2 nights, would visit again.
