"We booked this hotel as we wanted a hotel that was central to the heel of the boot of Italy so we could travel to the various towns like Lecce, Otranto, Ostuni, Gallipoli etc which were all within about an hour of the hotel. We arrived at Cellino san Marco just after midday and found there was nothing open in the town, no movement at all and thought we had come to a film set of the remake of "On The Beach", a film about a neuclear disaster. "The Patria Palace hotel is excellent in so many ways - central location ( in front of Santa Croce), high quality hotel room and delicious breakfast. But most of all, it is the staff of the hotel who made our stay so memorable. It exhibits old school charms (like hotels in an Agatha Chistie novel) where every staff greets u warmly from front desk, concierge and dining room. A big shout out to Mr Francesco from front desk and Irene who serves us breakfast. It was the best stay of our 2-week holiday in Italy. Bravo!"
