The people are fab, but Cwmbran seems to just be a large shopping centre, Wetherspoons & supermarkets - no High Street, unless I missed it...
Well liked for its spas and restaurants, you might stop by Celtic Manor Resort Golf Club and Newport Docks while you're exploring Llantarnam and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
While there might not be top attractions in Upper Cwmbran, you can explore the larger area and discover places like Pontypool Park and Cwmcarn Forest Drive Lake.
You'll enjoy the museums and entertainment venues in Pontnewydd. You might want to make time for a stop at Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre or Bowlplex Cwmbran.
While Llanyrafon may not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Celtic Manor Resort Golf Club and Caerleon Amphitheatre.

We didn't see much of Cwmbrân and what we did see was okay. However the hotel is actually on the edge of Cwmbrân in Llantarnam, which seemed to be more attractive. Also the location is great for getting to and from other places.
Lovely place to visit.
