"Cavallo is an idyllic and beautiful island. Unfortunately the hotel is no longer run in a first class way and I could not in good conscience recommend staying here (especially at these prices). For example, there is a ferry that takes you to the island. We called the hotel bc we were 3 mins late (after a 17 hour flight from California that wasn't so bad). The hotel assured us they would contact the ferry and make sure they would wait those three minutes. The ferry said no one ever contacted...

"This was an outstanding five star hotel, but the one thing that irked me was that every time I asked for water I was looked at as if it were an odd request. We stayed for a few nights and every morning, one 75 cL bottle of water was in the room. For two people, that is 1/6th of the amount of water a standard person should drink in a day, someone like an athlete probably more. "Lovely staff , garden and exceptional pool area with pool properly heated. very pretty views overlooking the bay from our room, pool and bar area. Clean room and comfy superking bed. Lovely linen and feather pillows. My usual gripe about not having a dressing table with chair ,mirror , power point and good lighting in one place but all available in the room in different locations.
