The property has a great location nice and quiet but still a casually 10 to 15 min walk from all the pubs. The host were great, with a nice breakfast. Plus they had two huge dogs who were great and the icing on the cake.

Beautiful location and views! And those Irish Wolfhounds- I love them!!! Vito even opened the bar for us upon our arrival, which was needed after our long journey from Miami to Dublin to Dingle. What I cannot get over is the hot water. There was NONE. All I wanted was a hot shower and I did not get it. We let the water run over a half hour and it was still as cold as it was when I first turned it on. We were told it was an old house and needed time to warm up. It was like 32 degrees Fahrenheit and I was not going to take a cold shower. I would not visit again when it’s cold until they fix this issue.

Greetings SelinaMany thanks for your kind words and I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay. Apologies for the water situation, you're absolutely right that it should always be hot. That day we had a technical problem with our boiler and it was fixed within a few hours (finding a plumber in Dingle on a Saturday is like winning the lottery these days), unfortunately this coincided with your early arrival time. The water did heat up later, once it was fixed all other guests were able to enjoy a hot shower at any time.Milltown House is 120 years old, Its rare that we have a heating/water problem, but if we ever do then we always focus completely on getting it fixed asap.Best wishes to you and we hope to welcome you again in the near future.StephenOwner

A historic property in a peaceful setting on the Dingle Peninsula. The owners are quite friendly and their two Irish Wolfhounds add a nice touch to the overall experience. Breakfast was well cooked and served in a pleasant enclosed patio area. The room was quite comfortable.

This B&B was the best!
A lovely B&B away from the main tourist area, but just a refreshing walk away. We had a beautiful room overlooking the water and across the harbor. Slept good, ate the yummy breakfast and encountered friendly staff… including the Wolfhounds.

A companion was ill and had to cancel outside the due date--yet two days earlier. Even though the room could be rented I was still charged over 300 for one night. I could have just not cancelled--and let the room go unrented--very disappointed and would never recommend this establishment.

Property was not what I expected based on such great reviews. Pretty decent hike into town over a bridge that has no sidewalk so walking back at night after dinner was not easy. Room was very average and had black stains on ceiling that looked like a possible old leak. Parking was easy and breakfast the following day was good but comparable to every other place we stayed not outstanding as reviews suggested. Biggest disappointment was the dogs talked about so much in reviews. They are in a confined area (which is very large and nice for them) but there’s a high wall and you can’t even see them over the wall. The dogs were not out during our stay and we were told one of them runs off so they couldn’t come out. I understand this but it’s just nothing like what is advertised. This place wasn’t terrible but it was the the worst place we stayed on our 10 day vacation along the west coast.

Thank you for staying with us, sorry to hear that Milltown House didn't meet your expectations, that is a genuine regret for us, normally guests love their stay at our historic property. The bridge beside us and the whiskey distillery is as safe as any other, there has not been an accident there in centuries to the best of my knowledge. Most of our guests who take the 10 minute walk to town love the scenic waterfront stroll, my Irish Wolfhounds and I personally love it too, we take it regularly, drivers are courteous and considerate and I think it's actually a highlight of a stay at Milltown House. The short walk from Milltown House to Dingle Marina is one of the best birdwatching stretches in all of Ireland and it is beautiful to stand in the middle of the bridge and watch the Atlantic-tide ebb and flow across Dingle Harbour. (Note: It is planned to build a pedestrian bridge alongside the ancient bridge in future years.) Regarding our beloved Irish wolfhounds, you forgot to mention that we had a new driveway being laid at the back of Milltown House during you stay and our back-gate had been temporarily removed to offer access to work vehicles. Our youngest wolfhound, Seamus, loves running out the open gateway and this gentle-giant can cause pandemonium in our neighbours garden. So until the gate was replaced, he had to stay in his huge enclosure and just enjoy 4 walks per day. Our wolfhounds have full-time staff taking care of them exclusively, with respect - if you had asked, you could easily have joined one of the walks or visited them in their huge enclosure. Your disappointment could have been alleviated. The wall of their enclosure is 4.5 feet tall, I'm not sure how you could not see over it? Im happy to hear the parking was easy and you found our breakfast good. Best wishes to you and happy travels Stephen McPhilemy Owner

Thank you so much for your 5 star review and for staying at Milltown House. It was a pleasure to welcome and host you. Delighted to hear you enjoyed the professionalism and warm welcome of our team-member Vitor and that you felt "right at home" in our beloved Milltown House - that is one of the biggest compliments a Guesthouse owner can receive. Thank you. Happy to hear you enjoyed meeting our beautiful and noble gentle-giant Irish Wolfhounds, Seamus and Ogie. They truly are noble creatures and we are blessed to share this beautiful corner of Dingle Bay with them. Safe travels and we look forward to welcoming you again in the near future. Nice location across the water from Dingle town center. Friendly welcoming staff and clean comfortable rooms, even if a bit dated. Our weather did not cooperate, but hawk walks on site and beautiful Irish Wolf Hounds on premises. Worth the stay.
