The hotel is fine, if nothing to write home or rave about. It's run in a similar manner to a low cost budget hotel. EG: No Room Service, Daily Housekeeping on request rather than as standard.
The rooms have a kettle, coffee, tea and biscuits. There is also a fridge (with some free bottled water which is nice) hairdryer, iron and ironing board. So it has everything you need.
The rooms are on the small side and oddly face inward to the lobby. They have a balcony which is inside, overlooking the reception area. I can't imagine why anyone would want to sit on it. It's a pretty stupid design idea, they would have been better making the rooms larger rather than adding a balcony. All in all the rooms are serviceable. WIFI is available, it's free and strong enough to stream.
Bathrooms are clean, small but well equipped. They have everything you need.
The staff we interacted with were friendly, polite and helpful. The public areas are tiny, the bar is quite literally a few sofas and tables in the lobby but the place is clean.
The location is central and within walking distance of everything in Douglas.
Room prices are reasonable for what you get. Would I consider it value for money? Yes probably. I wasn't unhappy with the stay but neither was I blown away or impressed, it was mediocre, not terrible and not great, somewhere in the middle.
