Loved it
We booked this as part of a quick break away. I wasn't expecting such a lovely old historic coaching inn. There is a good bar and restaurant downstairs with great staff and lovely food which. We really enjoyed traditional music on the Sunday night. There isn't dedicated parking but there's plenty of free parking just up the road. If we went back to the area we'd certainly stay again.

Value for money is best why to describe it
Great appartment for a family. Has everything u need from fridge to washing machine Almost everything is new too by looks of it Beds are great plenty of space

The apartment was absolutely amazing. So spacious and clean. We were only expecting a double bedroom and we got a two bedroom apartment. Was clean, comfy and private. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Lovely old coaching inn. Welcoming and friendly. Shame no on site parking.

Fantastic all round
I booked a room for one night just for myself as I was in Ireland for a friends wedding and couldnt have been happier with this hotel. The room was well above my expectations. It was clean, very large and had plenty of facilities. Staff were hospitable and friendly. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Quaint newly updated hotel with a history
Parking for the hotel is up hill on English street, toward the cathedral. We stayed in the hotel apartments which are in a seperate building from the pub. Lovely and newly remodeled they had gorgeous bathroom and comfortable beds. Smart tv in the room and speedy wifi. Breakfast at the property is tasty and enjoyable in the old kitchen from the 1600s. Great staff and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and location in the center of town. Three things to be aware of which may makena difference to someone (I personally will stay here again): The hotel apartments are on a busy street - you don't hear it if the windows are closed but if open, this could be a deterrant. There is not much sound proofing between the rooms - the first night we had a noisy party rocking out until 415am. Luckily it was Friday and they only stayed 1 night so we slept in on Sat and then weren't bothered the next night. There wasn't anyone to report to or ask them to quiet down so we did just deal with it. Also there are no lifts so be prepared to carry bags from top of hill near cathedral around the corner and up 1 or 2 flights of stairs depending on room location. Fine if you are healthy but could be a challenge for some.

Thank you for the review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us even though things are far from normal as yet due to the pandemic. Hopefully though we'll see you again soon. On the three issues you mentioned. it would indeed be noisy if the windows were open. This is the issue of being located in the centre of town. However, when the windows are closed there is practically no sound at all, due to the fact that they are triple glazed. On the "party", we can only apologise. There is a number though to phone should there be any issues. We'll make this clearer. And on the lack of lifts, again we apologise but this is due to the fact that the rooms are located in a listed building and so we had to renovate them with sympathy towards their heritage. Thanks again for the very kind review.

Good central location, this coaching inn has lots of character. The staff were friendly and the full Irish breakfast was good. I stayed 2 nights and would stay there again.

Very convenient hotel in the middle of Downpatrick. Staff were really friendly and the food was excellent - I ate both lunch and dinner there. Room was comfortable with ensuite bathroom (which I didn't expect from a 2 star hotel). I was allowed to store my bicycle indoors. The fried breakfast was very tasty.
