No frills but nice property
Overall, this place was very nice. Very clean, which is so important! Living room furniture looks brand new, very comfortable. Lacking a bit in the kitchen utensils, could use some more forks, sounds petty, but is needed. Could use a platter for serving, and a cookie tin, which is useful for lots of stuff. A few extra kitchen towels wpule be helpful also. Besides that, it was very nice!

It’s not a cabin. Owner very responsive.
To be clear:This is a mobile home with vertical exterior wood siding. It’s not a cabin. Plenty of room for four adults in our group. A couple of issues immediately popped up with venue. Communication with owner very, very positive, although root issues not resolved. Overall experience was ok. If you’re a group of adults, perhaps with a dog or two, this VRBO could be considered.

Very sorry your stay didn't go well. The cabin was fully renovated in 2014, there have been more upgrades since and our cleaning crew does an excellent job. We never heard from you during your stay so we couldn't address your issues.

There was trash on the floor with bins lying on the floor. I suspect the racoons got into it through open window. Nevertheless, the trash likely was left from previous guests, who were here over a months ago (as owner said to us). The house was not cleaned from previous guests, visible soil on sinks, tables and kitchen countertops. The water from faucet has strong bad odor, made us concerned about safety of it as water for even bathing or brushing the teeth.

Be prepared for the smell of cigarette smoke. I wouldn’t have stayed there if I had known about the smell of cigarette smoke. The property is very unique. It’s a trailer, with an addition of a bedroom and bathroom. Although it smelled of smoke, it was very clean.

Clean and great location!
My husband and I stayed here with our son for a ski weekend. The place was clean with good beds and plenty of room …. Very close to Burke Mtn’s base lodge, you can walk there . Not fancy but it was comfortable and we had all we needed. We would stay again. The host was great at communicating and very accommodating.

Great Location
Nice spot for a getaway with friends. The deck nearly doubles the living space if it's nice weather. Brought the family for an MTB. Adventure. My wife mentioned that it's kind of like camping. Had all the necessities, notably a great coffee maker and nice linens. Cleanliness could have been better, however. Thanks to Matt!

Rustic house in great location
The location of this house is perfect, midway up Mtn rd, able to access the trails right from the door. That being said, this house is not fancy but it was very clean and had all the basics, the kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment. For the cost, this is a great house if you are not looking for anything fancy and more concerned with hitting the trails.

Great place for a group of mountain bikers or skiers.
Matt the Host was great to work with got back to me in very reasonable time when asked a question. Great storage for bikes. A mile and half from town. Washer and Dryer a big plus as for having 2 bathrooms and 3 showers (1 outside but enclosed). I wouldn't put more than 6 adults in here. It is quite rustic. You can't beat the rates.

Cozy Cabin
Cabin situated super close to the Burke Mountain ski resort was cozy and very comfortable. Despite the small square footage, it was very functional and felt much larger. It served our needs perfectly for the week. No worries during winter due to proximity to main roads that are plowed frequently. We had a significant snowfall the last day of our stay and had no issues getting out. Driveway was plowed very quickly. Internet/Cable/Wi-Fi were all excellent. Beds were very comfortable too. Kitchen well appointed with everything you need for cooking. And the bonus was the breezeway/garage area which was perfect for ski waxing. Matt the owner was super thoughtful and set-up and area for my son to wax his cross country skis. While the cross country ski area nearest to the cabin (Dashney Nordic Center) had not opened yet due to lack of early season snow, this cabin was still less than an hour away from the Craftsbury Outdoor Center where we could ski. Overall it is a great afordable place. Thank you Matt!

Great MTB base camp
If you are coming to East Burke for mountain biking, this is a good choice. It is up the hill from town, but that means it is right next to Burke Mountain. The trail heads for Burn ‘Em Down, Moose Alley, and Moose Deuce are very convenient - not a bad way to start a ride. The house is comfortable and Matt (owner) was very responsive. It was nice to be able to put our bikes in the covered breezeway. Feels very nice and secluded.

Fantastic
This place was just what we thought it would be and just what we needed. Matt was great and very responsive. The location to Burke can’t be beat. The house had everything we needed and we could even snowshoe out the backyard, which our dog loved. Our trip was cut short due to COVID, but Matt was super understanding and helped us out. My one tip if you plan to have adults in the bunk beds I would bring a egg crate mattress pad or plan to sleep over a sleeping bag, our friend thought the bunk mattress was a little tough. Kids had no problem. In short you will not be disappointed, the place is as described and has everything you need.

Thanks, Heather. Sorry about the mattresses. They were new a couple of years ago. We just replaced all 4 in June with a a better, higher quality mattress so should be a big difference in comfort. Thanks for the feedback. Matt

Family Reunion over the holidays
I want to thank Matt for his wonderful hospitality and for his ability to help resolve the thermostat issue. He was quick to come in and replace the thermostat when we realized it was not working properly. With the bunk room it was a perfect place to be with all the kids.

This property has a great secluded location. My dogs loved the yard! Comes with plenty of immunities. Nice and clean. Just 1 complaint: the couch is awful and needs to be replaced. It slants so bad you can't sit in it without sliding out.

Kingdom Trails Bike Trip
This is a great location with lots of outside space for parking and relaxing after riding. Great deck with new Weber grill. WiFi signal was very good. The additional outdoor shower was great in July after riding KT. Kitchen is well supplied with what you need to prepare meals. Our group plans to return next July for our annual bike trip to East Burke to ride Kingdom Trails.

Perfect for a guy's bike weekend.
It was perfect for a three day Kingdom trails biking excursion. As described in the listing it's nothing fancy but had everything we needed and was affordable. We didn't spend a lot of time at the property but when we did it was quiet and nice. The outdoor shower is great after a day of riding! The location is close to bike trails. I would stay there again.

We were happy with the close proximity to Burke Mountain . One circuit breaker kept tripping, but it was only if we had a heater plugged in. Hot tub was nice! Could use some blinds in the bedroom facing the street. We put a sheet over the windows. Not a palace, but we did not pay for one. We would go again.

Great location!
We had a great ski weekend with our friends at this cabin. The owner was very responsive to our questions, the house was clean and the proximity to the mountain can’t be beat. The hot tub was great to relax in after a long day of hard skiing. I highly recommend this property.

Great Burke getaway!
Matt's place was exactly what our group needed after a day of skiing! Matt went above and beyond to make sure the hot tub was prepared for our stay! Great access to the bike trails in the summer and the mountain in the winter. Burke is one of my favorite places to visit in Vermont and this is a great place to stay when you are there! I will look this place up next time I visit!

Stayed here for a mountain bike trip with some friends. Great spot for a mountain bike trip. Nothing fancy, but its not advertised as that! Enjoyed use of hot tub and outdoor shower and garage was a great bonus for bike storage!
