located next to the popular beach with lots of night life and restaurants. someone smoked in the hotel lobby in the evening. Check-in process was slow. Hotel kept old smoky blankets made the room smelled smoky.

Well located basic hotel
The hotel appears to be undergoing some improvements and the room was therefore freshly decorated and clean and better than what we were expecting from the photos on the site. Great location for the port and Las Canteras beach. Would stay here again if wanting a value for money stay.

Check in was awkward, although the other two receptionists we saw were even worse. We moved to a different room on our 2nd night because of constructions taking place right on front of our window. The other room was bigger and with the bathtub. So overall we were happy with our room. Although the last day when we came back to the room after leaving AC on, the water was leaking out of it on top of the TV and the desk. Location is good though.

Great value near beach and close to bus
We appreciated the warm welcome and early check-in. The staff was exceptional, including the staff in the restaurant. The food, including the fresh croissants and fresh orange juice in the morning was a treat. We enjoyed the soups and main courses. It was the best food we ate in Las Palmas, at the most reasonable prices.

Well priced and convenient hotel
Excellent two star hotel in great location within walking distance of beach, Santa Catalina Bus Station and Cruise Port. Lovely clean room and comfortable bed. Would stay again if need to visit Las Palmas.

Was good. Foe 3 star its supper. Only problem was a bed . The bed was not comfortable at all. Similar to old grannys bed. Rest was ok.

Close to bus station, port, shops and beach.
Bit noisy early morning due to being in very built up area, they have tried with good thick double windows. Not very posh dining available, just a cafe really. The staff did not have much English.

Impressive Service, Quality & Location.
Stayed here January 2014, had a problem & the Hotel apologised but grateful that I brought it to their attention. On this occasion we had 2 triple rooms for my family & grandkids, the rooms are as new. The decor is fantastic, the service in the hotel & attached bar/restaurant are second to none. We chose the Verol again because of it's location, to the Market, the beach, the port, El Muella & only a short hop on a bus to go to the Old Town for €5.60 (and kids don't pay), so cheap & easy. The Christmas spirit was all around and the sand sculptures were literally around the corner. Thanks again for everything, Impressive Service, Quality & Location for such a good price. We will certainly recommend & return again soon.

A two-day stay at Virol 19th - 21 Jan 2015
Pillows were uncomfortable( too low) and no spares were available in the room. All Television channels were in Spanish and this made our stay in the hotel boring. An ironing board which could be made available on request will be helpful as the room is so tight to accomodate one permanently. A working safe in the room is highly essential. The towels are becoming tired though clean. If you speak Spanish, or intends not to spend much time in the room (if English speaker), I will recommend the hotel.

Very convenient hotel with great access to beach.
Very clean hotel with very pleasant staff. The hotel rooms are very good value. One of the rooms on the floor can be small so is really only suitable for one person but the other rooms on the floor are a good decent size for the price. Very convenient for the beach and local restaurants with a large shopping centre nearby. Would recommend it with no hesitations.

Nice hotel close to the beach
Our cruise ended at Gran Canaria. There was an issue when we tried to get a taxi from the port and the taxi driver refused to take us -- "too close, only 200m!" So we had to carry our luggage the 1/4 mile to the hotel but once we were ensconsed, all was fine. We liked that we were just one block from the beach. Also convenient to catch the hop-on hop-off bus to get into the old town.

Super location right near the port and beach!
The location is stellar, and the hotel staff is fantastic and very friendly. However, we were not given enough towels, the beds were literally as hard as boards, and there was also a tiny tv with no cable, so the few channels we had were in Spanish. It is listed as a 3 star hotel, but by American standards it is more of a 2 star.

This was a very clean hotel, the cleaning staff were very friendly and did their job well. The reception staff all spoke English and were friendly and efficient. The bar/restaurant staff were the worst I have experienced, especially one male member. The food was over priced, portions were small and for breakfast the choice was poor. We pre-booked the breakfast and it was a rip off. We were charged for the most expensive breakfast and it wasn't available most mornings, they ran out of it before we arrived. Service was so bad that on two occasions we went elsewhere for the breakfast. The rooms were very small, for the price I wouldn't expect large rooms but wouldn't expect them this small either. When leaving the room the space around the door was so tight that one of us had to go into the bathroom to make space for the door to open.

Great location - good value
We stayed here for 8 nights during carnival, and not only was the location excellent for the events, but it was only about 1 minutes walk to the lovely Las Canteras beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful,, the hotel was clean, and the room was well appointed for the price paid. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

You get what you pay for!
In my World I paid relatively little and I got relatively little. The room was so small that you almost had to step sideways to get around the bed. It was cold and the hotel had no heaters. They offered me a 2nd blanket; when I went to find the first blanket it was the fitted bedspread - yuk! The room was clean; the bathroom was adequate. For an overnight it is too far from the airport.

Great location but limited facilities
The Hotel Verol is located only yards from a huge sandy beach and a short stroll from the centre of the nightlife in this area. The bus exchange is only a 5 minute walk away and the airport bus leaves from there. The staff were all friendly and helpful and my room was spacious, clean and with a really powerful shower. However there are limited facilities in the room and the lack of a refrigerator could be a problem in hot weather. There is a good flat screen television with an extensive range of channels - none of them in English. Because of the nature of the area, it can be noisy until quite late and the marble floors mean that noise from adjacent rooms does intrude. There are no eating facilities within the hotel, but the adjoining cafe does a very acceptable breakfast and there is a huge choice of other restaurants and cafes in the vicinity.

Above expectation!
IThis was the second least expensive hotel in my search. Chosen over the chepast one becouse of location. My expectations where low. Beeing ex cabin crew I have seen some grim hotels with both four and five star. Suprice, suprice! Night porter spoke english very well, room was large, clean and modern. Walls however paper thin. Just one block from the beach. Lots of small late night shops and restaurants in the area. TV-channels almost all in spanish (as per usual), BBC News beeing the English exception. Managed to extend my checkout (very greatfull) untill 1PM but not possible with anything later as hotel fully booked next night. Hotel has a bar and friendley service there as well. However, to me Las Palmas feels a bit depressing with few tourists and lots of empty shops. Sun is still shining so this can soon change!

Trivelig hotell med fantastisk beliggenhet mellom strandpromenaden og havna. Vi bodde der en natt før vi skulle på cruise og da passet beliggenheten perfekt. Hotellet er ikke stort og fancy, men de som jobber der er svært hyggelige og serviceminded. Vi bor gjerne der igjen når vi skal til Las Palmas.
