Fantastic stay- I was there for a week. Professional, welcoming and courteous team. Great facilities - all is in great condition and well maintained. Prompt, helpful service. The breakfast is exceptional- buffet options and some a la carte selection. Team put great effort and thought into making our stay comfortable and enjoyable! Would highly recommend and will stay here again.

The property and the rooms are beautiful, the breakfast they offer has a lot of variety and was delicious. The only thing to note, because it’s in an older building you can hear a lot of stomping if you have rooms above you. One night it was extremely loud while we were there. Also another thing to note, they do have an elevator but it’s only once you walk up a steep flight of stairs to get to the first floor. So keep that in mind if you bring heavy luggage you will need to bring it up 1 flight up steps.

Perfectly positioned, lovely property
This is a lovely hotel in a perfect position on the harbor. We had a room with the harbor view and balcony and absolutely loved it. A lovely refurb of an old building. Great restaurant advice from the team - we ate at their recommendations several times. Only minor improvement opportunities if I had to be critical - its a big room, could have fit a king size bed easily instead of the queen and the bathroom sink has an auto on off so hard to get consistent running water at the right temperature. Definitely not deal breakers!

Boutique hotel in the middle of the port area. Walk to all. Very good breakfast. Outstanding staff - very helpful. In spite of being in a busy area, room was quiet. Modern styling and amenities in a very old building. Lots and lots of nearby restaurants.

This was one of the highlights on our trip to Greece. Had the balcony room on the first floor overlooking the harbor. So close and convenient to everything. I really didn't want to leave the room. I loved sitting on the balcony and watching all the people from the workers preparing their restaurants in the morning to the the cruise ship passengers during the day. The room was perfect. Breakfast was good with a variety of options. You can get a variety of coffees and eggs if you want. I would come back here again and again.

Fantastic hotel
Amazing boutique hotel in the heart of the old city. Unbeatable location, right on the water. Very helpful staff helped us arrange a rental car, upgraded our room to sea view free of charge. Getting to the hotel is a little different than your average hotel. No cars are allowed into the old city so you have to walk about ten minutes with your luggage down some cobble stone streets. The staff are very helpful and will come out to the road to help you with your luggage if you can coordinate with them. We arrived late at night by bus so it was a bit trickier for us. Its perfectly doable but if you are less able, definitely coordinate with the hotel for check in. Rooms are fantastic with high end finishes, we loved our balcony overlooking the harbor.

A true 5-star boutique hotel experience
I don't normally write reviews, but I feel this hotel deserves one because the experience was that good not to share. From the minute we arrived and every moment after we were continually surprised. The rooms were beautifully designed and well equipped, it truly had everything you needed and more. The quality of service was sensational, with all of the staff from the chef, front desk to cleaning staff were so friendly and attentive - you just can't help but smile and think "what an amazing hotel". No request ever seemed too much. As for the location it’s very well located and easy to get everywhere. We cannot fault this hotel at all, if you appreciate friendly staff and a true 5-star experience seriously look no further you won't be disappointed.

Amazing experience
A great boutique hotel with lovely decoration. My girlfriend and I had fantastic time at the presidential suite on the top floor. Hotel manager Christina was very helpful. The kitchen staff (great breakfast!!) and cleaning ladies were very friendly and helped us having an amazing holiday. We will for sure come back.

Great stay and location
Great location in Old town, wish we would have just splurged on the room with sea view. The staff was very nice. On our second day we wanted to do the Samaria Gorge hike (highly recommend) they helped us book that and had a packed lunch waiting for us the morning of the hike. Highly recommend this hotel.

The views from this place are great if you are facing the water. Located right in the middle of the harbor for easy access. The breakfast is sub par but since the hotel is small it makes sense. One of the rooms we stayed in was non smoking but it was very clear there was smoking in the room. Overall a pleasant experience.

We had the most amazing stay at scala. The presidential suite is gorgeous and tastefully done with an amazing view. Angeline at the reception gave us the best recommendations for restaurants, beaches and shopping and the staff was generally wonderful about everything.. !!

Fantastic!
Wonderful stay – perfectly located hotel on the harbour with stunning views if you have a sea-facing room. Helpful staff and beautifully designed rooms. Worth noting that there is a flight of stairs up from reception to the rooms, but the team always offered to help with luggage. Would definitely return!

Charming, charming, charming! This boutique hotel located right in the Venetian Harbour was one of the most charming and modern hotel I have stayed in. The breakfast was good, but the people serving made it better! Great overall experience. Very, very conveniently located and not noisy! Our room wasn't.

Perfect boutique rooms in top location
Loved this hotel. Room & accessories all fantastic, great shower, perfect location. Only criticism would be that breakfast was slightly confusing: a very light buffet, no menu for hot food but some apparently available if you ask. No bar, but it doesn’t matter as you’re surrounded by places to eat & drink. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Felt like a secret hideaway right in the middle of the city. Have stayed in many 5* boutique hotels and the rooms here definitely deserve that description. Would happily book again.

Chania Gem
This hotel was absolutely sensational!! We received an upgrade upon arrival. The room was huge and incredibly comfortable and the view from all the windows was amazing ! We were right in the heart of the best eateries, bars, shopping and a 10min walk to beaches. We would definitely come back to Chania and stay here again. The staff were also amazing and they met us outside the old town where the taxi dropped us off and walked us to the hotel.

Beautiful Place / Great Location / Could Improve
Really nice place in the heart of Old Chania Town. We had a room with a balcony facing the harbor and we were exactly centrally located so the view was very symmetrical. Overall it was a good stay. I thought the hotel was very nice but still overpriced compared to others I've stayed for the same price. If you haven't been to Old Town (Chania) be prepared to park about 0.5 miles away and have to drag your luggage through some cobble stone streets to get to the entrance and they lug them up a big flight of stairs. Not that I minded but they should have mentioned this beforehand or provided some assistance. Our room was very nice and beautifully decorated and the balcony was amazing for views and people watching. Staff was super friendly, cool, and helpful. Young with nice energy. Drawbacks include they gave us a room legitimately next to the area you have breakfast so every morning at 7am I can hear everyone eating and dishes clanking.. Did I really just spend over 400 a night for this (I was thinking). Also the bathroom had some drain issues; not clogged but slow and the floor got really wet / almost flooded a couple times. The maid didnt leave new toiletries any of the days I asked and I had to ask the front desk every day for new soap/shampoo/etc. Also, for a hotel this expensive they should get some softer toilet paper (no explanation necessary but it hurt). That being said it was a very nice place I'd stay again if the price was better

However, you handle it perfectly so next time that you will visit us you will be even better than us. 2/ the reception is helping our guests with the suitcases until the first floor that your room was located. 3/ About the drain issue you should inform the reception so they can fix it or maybe to provide another room. 4/ you are the first guest that complain about my maids and with all my respect I cannot accept it because they are very very professional and cannot be that they didn't leave you toiletries. 5/ as about the toilet paper we will do our best. Fell short of expectations
The location of this hotel is great. For a 4-5 star property though, it is lacking in many things. First, we requested two twin beds but was given a room with one big bed and a small, uncomfortable cot thrown into the space. Needless to say we ended up having to share a bed. Second, no one to help with bags to or from taxi and only reception woman to assist to rooms. Any hotel of this caliber should have baggage assistance. Third, bathroom had bath tub but it took over an hour to fill it 1/4 of the way. I gave up. Shower then sprayed and leaked everywhere. Fourth, no proper signage on the hotel. They literally had a piece of paper taped to the door. Super unclassy. The reception woman, the cleaning staff and the breakfast team were awesome. Management just needs to do some housekeeping and upgrade service.

Fantastic hotel in a fantastic location
Enjoyed everything about this delightful hotel. Overlooking the harbour, right in the centre of the old town. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was perfect with the best shower ever and very comfy bed. Breakfast excellent.

You were the only guest that complain and the ''rude staff'' as you mention (first time that someone complain about my professional staff ) try to explain to you again how the A/c work. Great design, service, and location!
Scala de Faro is an amazing boutique hotel right by the Old Chania Port, right in the middle of everything a first time visitor would want to see (clear view of the Lighthouse), eat (Strata Taverna had great Crete food), and shop (memorabilia had all sorts of unique designed items all made in Greece- not too cheap but very special). The staff was super friendly and helpful when we arrived late in the night, and noticed we were super tired so made it very easy and comfortable for us to settle in. The hotel is brand new with very elegant and modern design, we especially loved the smart usage of space, color combination and the geometric tiles in the bathroom. Other details such as the design of the lighting fixture and the monogrammed bedding really adds a nice touch to the rooms. Really wish i could have met the owner and the interior designer :) The breakfast space was small, but with a great view of the port, and each person gets a 3 layer high tea set of assorted pastries, breads, and my favorite Greek yogurt and fruits. There is a first flight of stairs that we have to lug our luggage up before the elevator, but the fact that there was a stair assist was a very thoughtful touch. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying at Chania, and I would definitely stay here again if I go back to Chania to experience the other room types!

Perfect location
We could not fault any facet of the hotel. The staff were a delight, the rooms spotlessly clean and the bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in.The location was ideal and the rooms overlooking the harbour have to be amongst the best in Hania.
