Room was basic but clean. Mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. The corridors and passageways through the hotel where in desperate need of modernising. Some stairwells had no bannisters at all. Breakfast wasn't too bad. Cooked breakfast was hot. coffee was good.

The place looks awful. Restaurant in a basement. Decor was beyond description. Stairs with no bannisters. The worst so called hotel, we have ever stayed in. I could go on and on. We will never trust your expedia site again.

Old, tired and dirty (lots of dirty hand prints on walls and doors). Room very basic (blinds let in a lot of light). On a positive note, the buffet breakfast wasn't bad.

Second stay and once again happy, comfortable warm room and great options for breakfast. All staff are friendly and helpful and having the option to leave car parked even after check out is a real added bonus. I’d definitely stay again.

A pleasant stay
I was really pleased with my stay at Abbey Lodge, the staff were all very helpful and I was able to park and check in earlier than expected and able to leave my car until after check out hours which was a massive bonus. The accommodation is basic but was comfortable and had everything I needed, the stay also included breakfast which was well stocked and there was plenty of choice.

Heaters weren’t working Called expedia apparently heaters wasn’t in the amenities yes that was expedias explanation. So if your booking with expedia if the heater isn’t working in hotel and hotel staff don’t help don’t bother calling expedia because at -5 cold weather heating isn’t promised only hot water was in the amenities How ridiculous is this !

Horrible dirty place
Horrible old, dirty b&b. Staff was not helpful at all. Had top floor room where the ceiling and one wall was completely wet. The bathroom had mould all over the ceiling. Was offered other room, even there the ceiling was mouldy. All dirty and old. You could here all the other rooms clearly, very thin walls. The manager was laughing in the morning when I was trying to talk to him. Avoid at all cost!

Hotel adequate for one night. On arrival double room was tiny and had bed fixed along one wall making it impossible to get out of one side. Staff happily moved us to a twin. Hotel very run down and shabby although beds were clean and comfortable. En suite had lots of mould on the ceiling but utility items were clean. Only one towel left in the room but we didn’t challenge this as we were only there for the one night. Breakfast was self service but plenty of choice available. Dining room was very run down with chairs looking worn and grubby.

Top notch. You know how to make people happy! Great room and amazing breakfast. Thank you! So ideal for a short walk into the lovely town centre too. Very struck with the beautiful service attended also at All Saints. We'll be recommending here to other family members who need to do the same as us.

Abbey Lodge is very much a budget hotel but for what it was in terms of the price we couldn't fault it. The staff were courteous and friendly. The room was very clean and we welcomed a full size bath as well as a shower. The breakfast was plentiful and met all our needs. We do normally book higher end hotels but this one is so near the railway station and only five minutes walk to the centre, which is what we were looking for on this occasion.

Good place
This was my second time at this hotel. I stayed in June. This is a nice reasonable place for the price and location to London. You can tell the carpeting can use an upgrade. The breakfast was nice. What really made my stay and why I came back again was the staff. One night time desk employee by the name of John was a pleasure talking to. An afternoon employee with glasses and blond hair also helped me with getting a cab previously. It’s a good basic place and when I come back to England, I would stay here again.
