The hotel was ok, but a bit frayed around the edges. There were few visitors there, and so it was quiet. The best thing about it was it's staff, who were friendly (not overbearing), helpful, polite, and very hardworking. Everyone, from the groundsman (who worked really hard, under difficult conditions) to the cleaners, dining room staff, kitchen staff and reception staff are a credit to the hotel. They made me feel welcome and at home, and nothing was too much trouble.
The taxi journey to the hotel from the airport takes about an hour, but there is no made up road to the hotel. For a lone female, being taken off the main road, seemingly across rough terrain was a little disconcerting initially, but fortunately the taxi driver spoke enough English to reassure me that it was ok. The taxi driver I had on the return journey spoke no English and never removed his phone from his ear for almost the entire journey. I was relieved to reach the airport and get out.
