I chose this hotel for my stay mainly due to the walking proximity to my business in Irvine, the fitness center, and for the stars to price ratio.
Things I liked were the location, on site restaurant with excellent food, comfortable bed, outstanding shower, and the overall cleanliness of the room and fitness center. The safe in the room was useful as well.
Things I didn't like were the lack of any lotion to apply to my dry skin after using their bath soap, lack of mouthwash since I forgot mine, and no real privacy since there is no option for do not disturb by housekeeping. The heater rattled and was louder than most at 52 dB on low, so I only turned it on while I was in the room, but I turned it off before bed. And most of all, I hated how the lights in the bathroom would turn off multiple times while I was in the middle of showering. They need to increase the motion time on their motion sensors.
The $28 nightly parking fee is ridiculous for L.A. standards, but it seems to be the norm for Irvine hotels who can take advantage of people with cars. It's too bad this hotel does not advertise this rate anywhere.
