Like all the reviews have said, the house was spotless and had everything we needed. We had 2 red squirrels passing in the morning, a pheasant, rabbits, and bird song. The swallows had arrived too and were very entertaining! Thank you to Kris for making our 3 day break so relaxing and we will definitely return. Janet and Duncan, Ayr

Lodge had everything we needed for perfect stay, great views. Managed to see the red squirrel & the Highland cows at the bottom of the drive. Kris was great, allowed us to check in earlier as we got an early boat. Everything spotless & tidy. Recommend to everyone if you need a place to stay

Short stay on arran
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was as advertised and had everything we needed for our break. The communication from the owner was good and he helped us quickly when required. The location is peaceful and we would recommend this lodge to others.

A home from home
The title describes everything. Very well appointed, warm and welcoming. The perfect quiet retreat to come back to after a day spent exploring. One of the features of Arran is its wildlife and the lodge has cheeky inquisitive red squirrels all around. A treat of a retreat!

Family stay for a long weekend before the schhols go back... absolutely loved it, the surroundings are beautiful ( Pheasant's, Red Squirrels etc) and the property itself was fantastic ... we loved every part of it.. hoping to stay again soon.

Wonderful Lodge
We had a fabulous stay at the lodge. So peaceful and well appointed. The interior is so tasteful and comfortable, and has everything you need. We enjoyed watching a variety of wildlife whilst relaxing on the deck. Kris was a great host and we will be back!

The lodge was exceptionally clean and so much care taken to provide everything we could possible need. We had a contest to see which of us could discover something we might have used - we came up with one item, but even so managed perfectly well without it! The extra items, like hand washes, hand creams, and room fresheners, were so welcome - as was the ‘welcome’ gift.

Ideal location and home away from home
Beautiful property with all the comforts of home. The setting was perfect and not far from Brodick and even closer to Blackwaterfoot. Clean cabin with ramp or steps. Large TV and all the kitchen supplies you would need. The only thing to know before you go, is this property does not provide bath Towels but that IS listed in the aminities online, i just failed to read it. Host was great and responded quickly to any questions we had! Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful lodge!
We come to Arran every year (2 adults, 2 children ages 8&6) and often stay in Lochranza but went for a change this year. We found this wonderful lodge in quiet surroundings which is a short walk from Blackwaterfoot where there is a nice beach. It's also close to Kings Caves for a short, flat-ish hike which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We used the lodge as a good base to go for bike rides as well as a bit further afield - Goat Fell, Brodick Castle and up towards Loch Tanna near Catacol. The lodge itself is superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need! Everything is spotlessly clean, and is one of those places that feels cosy and warm. We had Kris's number for any questions, and he left the key for us to easily get into the lodge. The welcome gifts were very well received - thank you!! It was a lovely cosy place to come back to in the chilly evenings and relax in the peaceful surroundings. Thank you to our hosts for providing such a warm and welcoming place to spend a few days of adventuring!

Lovely lodge
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Mcaras View. It was cosy clean and very comfortable. The location was quiet and private and a very nice 15 minute walk to Blackwaterfoot. The lodge had everything you would need for a holiday and we would highly recommend it. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic family break
Had a great time here with my wife and elderly mother. The accommodation was in perfect condition and we had a lovely surprise on arrival with a bottle of wine in the fridge and some chocolates. The location is perfect for our favourite hobbies - golf, walking and beach. Everything needed was provided and of good quality. Only suggestion would be to put the wall mounted TV on a swivel bracket as it's difficult to watch from the sofa due to window reflcting on the screen. Would love to come back again next year. Thankyou.

Excellent place to stay
The marac Lodge was a great little break away from the city. The lodge was spotless and we had a lovely little gift when we arrived. The area the lodge is in is so nice and quiet and just up the road from a brilliant beach where ours boys played for hours. If you want a nice relaxing quiet place to stay this is the place.

Fantastic stay and lovely lodge
We are just back from a week in Mcaras view. The photos do not do the place justice, a really lovely place and perfect for exploring the island. They have everything you need and more to cook in and lovely decking out the front to sit and enjoy the world go by. The hosts are lovely and super helpful too. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

Most relaxing holiday.
Mcaras view is a superb holiday location. The lodge is in pristine condition and is very well equipped. Red Squirrels come to the balcony. The area around Blackwaterfoot is very peaceful and the shops there have all you need. A fantastic holiday in all.

Very comfortable cosy lodge . Immaculately clean . Lots of thoughtful , homely extra touches provided . Very handy for golf and beach at Blackwaterfoot with its sand and beautiful rocks. Amazing bakery , filled rolls shop, butcher and local stores . We want to go back soon .

Relax and perfect long-weekend in Arran
The place is really nice and clean. It has everything you need from a laundry room to different games and movies for a rainy day. The kitchen has all the cookware you can ask for and the two bedrooms and two bathrooms are spotless. The terrace and garden are really nice, as well.We felt really comfortable and at peace in here and we definitely would like to come back!

Week stay May 2019
We stayed as a family of 4, including 2 teenagers, at Mcaras View for a week in May 2019. The lodge is immaculate and in a beautiful setting located approximately a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk outside Blackwaterfoot on the western side of Arran. The lodge is superbly equipped with everything you will need for your stay. The only thing we needed to take were our own towels. It is a real home from home and really don't think the photos justify how nice the lodge is. It's in a quiet and relaxed setting with gorgeous views across the valley. The outside decking with table and chairs is a real sun-trap. There is lots of walking/biking to do in the local area. There is a lovely beach at Blackwaterfoot, a local hotel with a swimming pool & bar available to non-residents. There is also 2 bakery type shops, post-office/grocers, harbour shop & butchers in the village along with a play area for young children. Horse riding stables are also close by. We would highly recommend the lodge for a holiday and hope to return for a visit again in the future.

Wonderful Island and a great lodge with a view which was the perfect basis for our hiking as well as our destillery tours. I can highly recommend Kris' lodge!
