"This was the 4th hotel I've stayed in on this trip and I was delighted with the unexpected luxury--the best of the lot regardless of price. The room was spacious, with a huge, comfortable king bed. The bath included shower and tub separated from the sleeping area by a glass wall--ideal for a ménage a trois, I suppose. The Garden Cafe's breakfast buffet has an enticing array of western and Chinese dishes, plus an omelet station, breads, dip-your-own ice cream (and not just for breakfast),...

"Beautiful historic hotel and the staff speak English. if you go to China, this is the biggest problem, just imagen you can't order food, you can't ask for a taxi, you can't ask the staff where to go etc. I will stay again many times, my only complain is that they don't have room service,"

"Hotel is in a great location. Lovely and quiet yet handy to bus stops, shopping mall and markets. There was a bus stop within 5 minutes away which took us to the Damming Lake and other parks and shopping areas of interest. This Hotel is affordable and very clean and tidy. I would stay there again. If you want to mix and mingle with the local Chinese people this is the place to stay. Thank you for making as feel very welcome. "

"Turned up with my Expedia confirmation. They had no booking and didn't seem to know who Expedia was. Rang head office but no booking? Nothing I could do except look for another hotel at 10:00pm after traveling for 18 hours. I have a translator so this was not a translation issue. "
