It’s your standard model. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. There are, of course, no amenities other than soap and shampoo. It’s the desert: the only thing within walking distance is a very good Indian restaurant, surprisingly. The lobby is a bit intimidating—bulletproof glass with a grill, plastered with warning signs. I found the attendant a bit gruff. But check in was easy. Highway 62 was very loud from the room I had adjacent to it. Based on the price and the quality of the rooms, I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a good motel.

The property was very clean, close to Jushua Tree N.P. and supermarkets. The small pool was very clean as well For me, the pillow was to flat but I obtained another one from the front desk.

There was a mystery white and crusty stain on the warm blanket beneath the comforter and a blood stain on the sheet. The room smelled freshly cleaned I have to say, new coat of paint, clean new shower. 2/3 lights in the room did not work consistently (flickered and didn’t turn on at all at times). The pullout bed/couch had seen much better days. I would not stay here again although the price I paid made sense after seeing the room. Nice and responsive owner though.

It was conveniently located near public transportation and a bike rental shop. It was near a market and a couple of dining options. And the main town was within walking distance. They were eager to stay up on housekeeping. But a bit bare bones when it came to toiletries and coffee (you had to ask for coffee, and the shampoo and one roll of toilet paper were mostly used.

The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It was great having a fridge and microwave and a table and chairs. The motel is close to shops and restaurants and Joshua Tree National Park. However the pool is freezing cold, which was disappointing.

The property was adequate for our purposes. We spent most of our time out of the room and used it mostly for sleeping. It was very conveniently situated to the Joshua Tree National Park entrance and only 5-10 minutes from Yucca Valley restaurants and stores. It was clean but very dated. This did not bother us. However, it had a very funky smell, sort of like stale perfume or smoke or B.O. Other than that, it was quite adequate.

We stay just one night. Very reasonably priced. The room was clean and comfortable, It included, cable, television, microwave, and refrigerator. There was a coffee maker, but it had standing water in it so we wouldn’t dare use it. The bed was comfortable. The facility was just dated. It was along, a busy highway, so there was traffic noise. There were a couple of nice, friendly restaurants nearby, but there were a lot of tourists, so allow plenty of time to get a table and be served. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly, cordial. Parking was fine.

For the price was a good motel. Needs updating but the room was good. Close to Joshua NP. Finding a place to eat was a little difficult. We did not spend much time in the room. Would stay there again.

Overall it was fine for me. I booked it as a fairly cheap place to stay near the park. The room was large, bed was decent, fridge and microwave worked and it was mostly clean. The property was dated with some pealing linoleum and the air conditioner had dirty air ducts.

High Desert was great value for the price. We were looking for a no frills place to settle in for a short stay while we went hiking in Joshua Tree. High West fit that bill and more. The seemingly recent renovations, including paint, had a welcome retro feel, like a motel you might have stayed in on a family vacation. Very quiet at night and conveniently located. Would definitely stay again!

On the plus side, the motel was close to everything, including Joshua Tree National Park. However, furnishings should be upgraded and could be more comfortable for what you're charged.
