We stayed for our week long stay here in Keystone. Beautiful clean lodge style resort. Peaceful and close to town. Kordon was on his toes the whole week. We had a great week! We will definitely be back!!! Beautiful resort!!!!

Loved location, scenic nature views, could even see the side of Mount Rushmore in the distance. Room was perfect, clean, comfortable. Breakfast options were good. Only Interacted with front desk staff and breakfast staff but they were great. Best place to stay in the area cause it’s set apart from the main tourist strip yet so close. If we go back, I would definitely stay here again.

We spent a quick and rainy night here on our way home to Central Minnesota from Denver. The attendee at the front desk was very pleasant and explained the property to us. We especially love that it was next to the 1880s train track. We will plan a stay here in the future when that train is running for the season. The breakfast here was wonderful. While I dislike the pancake machine, the burrito bar and oatmeal were very good, as was the fruit selection and other cereals and pastries. It seemed there was something for everyone in our party of eight to enjoy before we set off on the road. I think our only criticisms, based on our experience, was related to water pressure. The room we stayed in had fantastic water pressure, and the other family said they have low pressure and flow in their shower. As we departed, we caught a glimpse of the yellow-bellied marmot that lives in the rock pile along the driveway. We didn't get a photo, but all the kids found him to be adorable.

The rooms could use a little love but they were clean and in decent condition. The breakfast was amazing! Far exceeded my expectations! The location was perfect for everything we wanted to see, Mt Rushmore, Custer, Keystone, Deadwood, Sturgis, etc. Most importantly everyone I experienced at this lodge was so nice and accommodating!!

Not the best stay this time around..
Booked a room that was supposed to gave a side view of Mt Rushmore but trees blocked the view and you pay more for that “view”. This is room 3116. The two tv channels I wanted to watch were not available in my building but were available on the lobby TV. I brought this up a few times but was told that the satellite dish was not aligned correctly. Huh? All the other channels were available. I do appreciate that the hotel set up a bike wash station with clean towels to wipe the my bikes down.

Clean and well-kept lodge in the Mt Rushmore area. Don't expect a lot of options on eating there though. minimal buffet for breakfast and not a lot on the "pub" menu, good though.

What a difference. We had stayed in Keystone earlier this week, but downtown where you felt like your life was one continuous tourist show. This property is onl half a mile from downtown, but feels secluded and peaceful. We could see George Washington's head carved into Mnt. Rushmore from our balcony and the grounds around the property make you feel like you are in the woods and meadows of the Black Hills.

This property was conveniently located close to Mount Rushmore and many other sites in the area. The breakfast was amazing! The rooms are very roomy, clean. We didn't like that there was not an elevator. My travel partner has a bad back and it was challenging to carry up our belongings up the stairs to the second floor. We also didn't like that the hot tub was out in the open in the entrance to our building. Odd placement. Staff was super friendly and helpful

You can see the side profile of Rushmore! Its in the beautiful woods, so a great view on both sides of the buildings. The breakfast was good. Close, quick drive to Keystone. But stuff in Keystone closes early. A BBQ restaurant closed at 5 pm on a FRIDAY!! The locally owned burger place next to Subway was EXCELLENT, including amazing on tap root beer.. They also stay open until 8pm.

Highly highly recommend K Bar S!! We went to the nightly lighting of Mt. Rushmore and it started storming plus it was so dark out. We were relieved to find we were 8 min from K Bar S! The staff was so friendly and accommodating, our room was super clean and comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious and in such a beautiful glass building! The only negative was that there wasn’t a covered area to walk into a building. We had to walk up to the 2nd floor in the rain. It was worth it though
