"Wonderful hotel in a great location just down the street from Kalmar Castle and the train station. Shops and restaurants within a five minute walk. Room was clean, comfortable, cozy, and nicely appointed. Warm breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant. The hotel staff was absolutely amazing, very friendly and hospitable. I can’t emphasize enough how welcoming the staff was. I will definitely be staying at Slottshottelet next time I visit Kalmar. It truly felt like a home away from home."

"The hotel is beautiful in the summer. Our room was comfortable and had direct access to a lovely garden. There seemed to be fun activities going on in the evening, but our room was quiet. The restaurant on site has good food and good service. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It is across the path from a park and the castle. Shopping and dining is a 5 min walk across the street. I was sad that we were only staying for 1 night. "

"If you are with a family it's not the place to stay. The room is small with the tiniest toilet I have ever been in. I am not large built I found it extemely hard to sit on the wc. Check in is different from an American chain so plan ahead to be in hotel restaurant by 20:00, or make easy arrangements. The room was so quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was so traditional.
