A wonderful place to be-Mary and Mick.
This is our second year staying in Spring-well Cottage. As before staying in this bright, airy and so very comfortable house has been so invigorating. Sitting outside and gazing down on Kenmare Harbour , at the same time listening to the birds has been like a balm to the soul. The house has been so well maintained and provides you with all the home comforts, from kitchen utensils to warm electric blankets if needed. Where the house is situated you are never far away from all the wonderful sights on the Beara Peninsula. A little gem of a place !!

Paradise
We spent a glorious two weeks in this property. The house is so comfortable and the views outside are breathtaking. The utter peace we experienced is hard to put into words. Corinna the property manager was there on hand with helpful advice when needed. We intend to return very soon.

So impressed
Mark and I were really impressed with our lovely house last week. It really felt like home from home. It's such a gorgeous house with views overlooking Kenmare Bay. We spent our first evening sitting outside watching the sunset. We walked to the local Bar Helen's food was lovely and Helen and the locals very friendly. House was very cosy for sitting in too. Plenty of space for 4 people. House was absolutely spotless, kitchen very well stocked even tin foil and kitchen roll. Bathrooms had plenty of fresh clean towels and showers were excellent. Check was very easy too. I will definitely be returning next year. Big thank you to the caretaker and Owner.

Excellent property. Quiet, in the middle of nowhere. Requires a car to get to. Beautiful view of the bay. Make sure to bring everything you need - the house had only a few spices. Recommend reading the guest book very carefully, as guests are required to take out the garbage on a specific day. Also, we asked about water and while there is a filtering system, the advice given to us by the property owner was to drink bottled water or boil. Not too much of an inconvenience, but something to keep in mind. We would be thrilled to stay here again! The pictures truly don't do it justice.

Hi Ben, thank you for your kind review and glad you enjoyed your stay. We are leaving limited condiments out for guests due to covid that is why there wasn't alot of spices and just the basics. Also the water is filtered and safe to drink. We only recommend bottled water or to boil to be on the safe side. Thanks and hope to welcome you back soon again.

Great base to explore Kerry and West Cork
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay in this well equipped house. The views are absolutely spectacular and outdoor seating is provided to watch the sunset. It is a little off the beaten track but is well located to explore everything the area has to offer.

Different view every time
Springwell is a cosy clean well equipped cottage. Situated on a height with beautiful views over the Kenmare River and across to the ring of Kerry. Located on the ring of Beara with stunning drives on your doorstep. This cottage is in a remote location and is ideal for getting away from it all. Loved it!

Clean modern cottage, beautiful setting.
We stayed here for two weeks. Cottage was clean, had all mod cons and the manager, Margaret, responded to our emails very promptly. Location was great, it was quiet and we were able to explore the Beara Peninsula right down to Dursey Island. Some great hikes and walks. We were disappointed that there were no Irish TV stations but there were plenty of BBC and ITV stations.

Beautiful cottage in a very beautiful location
Clean and well equipped accommodation. Just a couple of concerns- the water has to be boiled before it can be drunk. It would have been good to know that before we got there as the shop was closed by then! Games, cd's, books are very limited. But beautiful overall.

Hello! Thank you for your review - it is very much appreciated. My response to the points you make are as follows: The 'boil the water' notice in the cottage was a precautionary one only - the water has been passed as fit for humans but as I was in the process of having a state of the art filtering system installed I felt the need for caution - this notice has now been removed as the filtering system is now fully commissioned. Books and cds are very limited in the cottage - I cannot cater for every guest who may come from a country who doesn't speak English. Tastes in reading and music are very individual. However, I have been reliably informed you can purchase books and cds from one of the two Charity Shops in Kenmare for as little as 10 cents!

Secluded rural getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Springwell Cottage. As we navigated to the cottage, was pretty sure we were close. We saw an older gentleman cleaning windows on a cottage so checked with him and yes, we were only 3 cottages short of the driveway for Springwell. The cottage has everything you will need short of your meals, and the three groceries in town have all items one might need. Never met the housekeeper but phone number provided should you need anything. The closed fireplace is the best of all the places we have stayed; very easy controls. The views are certainly breathtaking looking over the water and at the mountains. Healy Pass is most picturesque! We spent the days exploring both Beara and Iveragh Peninsulas and their towns/villages. Late afternoons we enjoyed Helen, Pauline and staff at Teddy O'Sullivans Bar just down the road and enjoying all the locals and travelers before returning to watch the gorgeous sunsets on Kenmare Bay back at the cottage. This was our third trip to Ireland in three years and this cottage helped set the tone for a most relaxing trip.

Very pretty, clean and warm.
It’s a couple of hours from Cork airport so further away than we thought, and longer if you get lost as we did. If you happen to miss the turning you come in on the wrong direction and do not see the sign for the cottage. Needs one on the other side. Directions should cover the possibility of missing the turn off and taking the next. Advised not to use satnav but I’d say use it or google maps. There is a pub called Teddy O’Sullivans about 3 miles away which is a good walk or about 10 mins driving. Very friendly. Nothing else until Kenmare so it’s driving everywhere. Views are beautiful and it is very peaceful. Cottage is well equipped but surprisingly, there was no welcome pack so make sure you have basics with you or shop in Kenmare before you arrive.

Thank you for taking time to write your review. I do not supply a welcome pack as everyone has varying ideas of what a pack should be, i.e. gluten free, lactose intolerant, sugar free. Most guest will pick up supplies on their way to the cottage - there are ample shops in Kenmare - which is only a 20 minute drive away. For basics such as bread, milk etc., there is a shop in Tuosist less than half a mile from the cottage. As well as Teddy O'Sullivans Bar, and if you travel in the opposite direction, you have The Lake House pub and Restaurant which is excellent, a little way further is the Star Outdoors Centre and Restaurant and a little further again is the Sailors bar - all before you reach Kenmare. The driving directions are very precise but I have now included a photo of the ten foot signpost for other guests to see the turning which you unfortunately missed. I do not know who advised you not to use a Sat Nav as I give the Sat Nav co-ordinates at the end of the directions.

Comfortable cottage in good location
Spring Well Cottage was the perfect holiday home for the two of us, perched in a picturesque ideal for exploring the area. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and very 'easy' to live in. The kitchen was well equipped with plates and cups etc and cooking items and the cooker was efficient, a bonus was the dishwasher. The wifi was perfectly usuabke for emails and social media use and a DVD player was available, I would suggest that you take some of your own favourite films, the collection at the cottage was not a kRge as some other places we had stopped. We have stopped in the area on numerous occasions so knew what to expect from local amenities, but we were sunrises at how well placed the footage was for access to local pubs,cafes and restaurants the nearest being only 15 minutes drive away. Communication with the owner and caretaker was very good and reassuring to know that someone was on hand if there were any problems, of which we had none. The peace and quiet and the fantastic vista made this the perfect place, whilst not being totally isolated either. We plan to return and holiday at Springwell sometime soon.

Wir erlebten wunderbare 14 Tage in diesem Traumhaus. Alles stimmte... das Haus, die Lage und das Wetter😁 Das Meer ist so nah, dass man das Gefühl hat vom Wohnzimmer hinein tauchen zu können 😀 Die Aussicht ist einfach unschlagbar. Ich kann dieses Haus zu 100% empfehlen und komme sehr gerne wieder.

Absolutes Ruheobjekt mit grandiosem Meeresblick
Wundervolle Ruhelage des Objektes in unmittelbarer Meeresnähe. Hier kann man auf der Terrasse hervorragend die Seele baumeln lassen. Hinzu kommt ein grandioser Ausblick auf das nahe gelegene Meer mit seinen tollen Sonnenuntergängen. Das Anwesen an sich (Haus und Terrasse) wirkte - vermutlich durch Corona bedingt - etwas ungepflegt. Hier kann man sich der (Vor-) Bewerterin Ruth anschließen. Zur Erläuterung und Definition evtl. unterschiedlicher Standards kann gerne Fotomaterial als Beleg übermittelt werden.

Nettes Haus in einsamer aber schöner Lage.
Das Haus ist eher schlicht eingerichtet aber mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Es liegt abgelegen, zum nächsten Ort braucht man mit dem Auto ca 30 Minuten. Dafür ist es ruhig gelegen mit toller Aussicht auf das Meer, man kommt nur leider nicht direkt ans Wasser. Der Garten ist eher ungepflegt und es fehlen Gartenmöbel. Alles in allem aber für einen erholsamen Urlaub und als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge zu empfehlen.

A wonderful week

Das Haus war, wie erwartet, gut ausgestattet, die Außenanlagen könnten gepflegter sein.
Durch den, erst kürzlich, erfolgten Heckenschnitt wirkte das Gelände ein bisschen chaotisch. Sehr schöne Szenerie, die Abgeschiedenheit ist sowohl Segen als auch Fluch, ein Fahrzeug ist absolut erforderlich. hervorragend die Kommunikation mit der Hausverwalterin Eilean, die jederzeit erreichbar und sehr freundlich ist.

Einfach mal Ruhe
Herrlich gelegen mit fantastischer Sicht aufs Meer. Abseits vom Trubel und doch ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen oder Ausflügen mit dem Auto. Direkt am Ring of Beara, welcher der eindeutig schönere, weil nicht so bevölkerte Ring ist. Würden immer wieder herkommen.

Dieses Ferienhaus verdient in jeder Hinsicht fünf Sterne. Sowohl die Lage als auch die Architektur und Innenausstattung sind großartig. Wir haben uns in dieser herrlichen Landschaft und Ruhe wunderbar erholt und hatten einen tollen Start in unseren ersten Irlandurlaub. Vom Esszimmertisch aus hat man einen fantastischen Blick auf das Meer. Wer absolute Ruhe und Natur sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Das Haus bietet jeden Komfort (Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine, Trockner, WLAN), ist aufgrund der riesigen Schiebefenster sehr hell und für 4 Personen geräumig. Wir haben das Haus sehr sauber vorgefunden. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind im benachbarten Kenmare ausreichend vorhanden. Wir können das Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Gemütlich in phantastischer Lage
Das Ferienhaus ist gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. An kühleren Tagen genossen wir friedliche Videoabende am Kaminofen. Unsere Teenager schätzten ihren Rückzugsraum in der ersten Etage mit eigenem "Wohnzimmer" sehr. Die Aussicht von der grossen Terrasse aus über Meer und Berge ist atemberaubend, vor allem bei Sonnenuntergang. Da die Beara-Halbinsel mindestens so schön, aber längst nicht so überlaufen ist wie die nördlichen bekannteren Halbinseln, ist die Lage des Ferienhauses oberhalb der ruhigen, kaum befahrenen Küstenstrasse sensationell. Die Fahrt In den nächsten grösseren Ort Kenmare mit grossem Supermarkt dauert nicht länger als eine halbe Stunde (nachdem man sich an die schmalen Strassen gewöhnt hat). Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Das Ferienhaus ist sehr schön und sauber. Nicht alle Türen schließen hundertprozentig aber das war nicht schlimm. Wir waren begeistert und würden es immer wieder buchen. Ein fantastischer Ausblick. So schön.
