"This is a unique property in the sense that it has all the basic needs and checks off all the boxes in Lilongwe. It is comfortable, clean, and safe. However, it is very basic and cold in terms of decor and having one restaurant. Any stay over 4-5 nights without a form of transportation and ability to explore will be very boring unlike Latitude 13 that is a warm and inviting property with interesting and appealing architecture and art. "

"The rooms were big with a large bathroom and shower. Two beds pushed together to make one large bed. Bed was very comfortable. Linen was very comfortable as well. Each room has its own dedicated wifi which is the best I ever had in Lilongwe. Loved the monkeys that seem to have the run of the place at times. Makes for a great show. "The staff are all very nice and helpful. They were in the process of remodeling a wing so clean was a challenge. Then their hoover was broken so the poor staff were sweeping rugs using s dust broom. "this was fine for a short stay at a budget rate. the location is safe and quiet and the place is clean, but there were no Covid protections in place. The studios have no phone to reception, toiletries and water are not replaced, and staff not particularly attentive. Not a single staff wore a mask except on request."

"PLEASE go elsewhere if you have the choice. Poor room service, the restaurant does not have a good decent menu. However, the people working at the hotel are kind and try their best with the limited tools and training they have been empowered with.There is no shuttle service attached to the hotel. The restaurant has lots of food choices including a large selection of Indian cuisine. Very close to Lilongwe city center. I highly recommend Woodlands should you need a place to stay. You can’t go wrong here. Thanks to the staff and management. Job well done. "
