Love the location and the vibe of this boutique hotel, but the heating system was not working in our room and there was a stale mildew odor that forced us to open window (winter temps outside). The staff tried to help but no other rooms were available to us. No effort to correct the situation with a credit or refund. It was disappointing.

Had a great 3 night stay here. Maastricht is great city with plenty to do with the Monastere in a great central location and it was very comfortable with nice bedrooms. We had a small drain issue which was fixed very quickly. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

My worst nightmare.
Arrived to find our room was not ready and instructed to come back later . Eventually got in to the family room . It was filthy dirty, cobwebs in the corner of the room, on ceiling lights, and under the bed had it’s on eco system. In addition there was nowhere to place a case , and there are no wardrobes in the room. The lamp side table was broken. When this was brought to the attention of the hotel and you girl ( not a manager and the catering manager ) did their best to rectify the situation but there is only so much they could do. The place is filthy and is grossly understaffed . That you girl was the only person on duty after 5 o clock . No manager or person in authority was on the premises and I believe that this is a regular occurrence . Do not stop here . Go somewhere else and save yourself a multitude of heartache and enjoy your holiday in a difficult premises.

The hotel is very central to the shops and squares and everything is in easy walking distance. The railway station is also close and within easy walking distance. We would definitely recommend getting the Bus from the Airport to the Train Station and walking to the hotel. Bars and Restaurants are in the square about 50m away. The Vrijthof square is only 5 mins walk from the hotel, so perfect if you are going to a concert in the square.

Mostly good, and a few downsides.
Great location close to restaurants, cafes, and venues. Nice place with stylish decor and friendly staff. Breakfast was pretty good, but the facilities and staffing are not designed for the number of guests the hotel can hold. One must schedule the time for breakfast, and even then it can be that some items are unavailable at that time. Another significant downside is that there is no actual heating in the climate control system. So the room was chilly. The only option is for the dehumidifier feature to be turned on, but that provides minimal or even possibly no benefit. If romance is part of the plan, better adjust your plans a bit... If the weather were warmer, the stay would be much nicer.

Hotel Monasterè is centrally located for walking to major areas of old town Maastricht. Rooms are a bit small and bathroom is not well lit. Excellent breakfast buffet in welcoming environment. Staff was friendly but seemed a bit disorganized at times. Difficult to make/confirm changes in reservations from afar.

Stylish, quirky, clever marriage of old and new
This is a beautiful and well thought out restoration of an older property. Rooms show traces of the architecture (eg beams) but they are cleverly contrasted with modern materials. Bed was comfy, excellent pillows and quality linens. There wasn't much hanging space, however, and my bathroom smelled a little funky. But that really was a tiny part of an otherwise lovely stay (and would go there again).

Centrally located, and nice restaurant, but the hotel room itself was very small. No place to put a suitcase (much less two), no closet, one small side chair, and a very small “desk”. The WC was very small and tight. The bathroom was ok, but the shower stall was configured so the water splashes into the bathroom floor. No towel rack. larking is in a public lot 10 minutes away; very inconvenient.

good for short stays and for exploring Maastricht
Hotel has good standard, top location, but no parking. You have to add Euro 24,-- per day for parking. It was a first for me to have a room without a wardrobe or chest of drawers, the bathroom had an excellent shower, but a tiny washbasin and lack of facilities for storage.

Nice hotel but standard room facilities inadequate
Was in town for a couple of days for an Andre Rieu concert. The original room were checked into had a hole in the ceiling which was stuffed with a white towel and sealed up with gaffer tape (see attached photo). Quickly complained and was assigned a new room which was acceptable however neither of the small rooms contained a wardrobe for clothes hanging! I have travelled a lotover the years but this was a first for me. The receptionist brought a mobile clothes rack which we used. They must receive a lot of similar requests. The hotel was clean and well decorated, apparently opened a year ago and was previously a monastery. The bathroom wet room concept didn't work too well as the floor outside of the shower area also became wet as a result of showering. The hotel is in a great location and the breakfast was delicious. My cousin/s room had a bed that was crammed into the corner with access only on one side of the bed where there was a cupboard that couldn't be used because the bed prevented the door from opening and therefore the cupboard being used!

This is a beautiful hotel! We loved staying here and would come back again! Breakfast was wonderful with a huge selection of everything.Staff were lovely.Location superb. We had a triple room but found the bunk beds to be very confined. Also water should be complimentary in the room. Would be lovely to sit and eat in the rear garden.
