A real experience of Madeira
This Quinta was charming. Not in the general tourist area it was perfect for walking with the Lavadas right on the doorstep. The staff were lovely. The only downside was the fact coffee and tea are not provided in the rooms. The food was very good but not large helpings.

The place to stay if you love peace and quiet
Lovely place set in beautiful grounds with views of the mountains. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Visit the Sunday market in the village. You need a car to get about if you stay here

Nice garden and good value
I stayed there for two nights. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and out was efficient since there are only six rooms at the property. Room is spacious, clean, and quiet but nothing fancy. If you wanted to be away from the city and crowds, this is a good choice. They dont have staff there 24/7 so be aware that if you cant arrive before 10pm, contact them ahead of time so they will be prepared. GPS is not very helpful on this island. The best way to get there is to take ER239 and then ER207. Otherwise you might be on the roller coaster type of tiny roads. 15 mins driving from the airport.

Great forest hotel
This is a great hotel for those who want a true Madeira experience and is perfect base to explore the whole island. It feels more like a home than a hotel, that has great food, staff and a warm atmosphere. It is about 30 mins by car from Funchal and a rental is a must. But to most things on the island, this is recommended anyway as there is so much to explore and parking is cheap or free where ever you go.

A class act
If you are looking for somewhere with the comforts of a top hotel, but the friendly atmosphere of a guesthouse this is the place for you. Lovely owners and staff. Set in a large garden away from the road, yet just a five minute drive to the local village with and a twenty minute drive to the coast, it offers peace and quiet for anybody seeking to simply chill out in the beautiful garden ..... not a yapping dog nor a ghetto blaster to be heard anywhere! The only caution for anybody with mobility problems is the steep cobbled path to the 4 annexed rooms, so it would be a smart move to request a room in the main house. The altitude means that there is sometimes more cloud cover during the day than at the coast, but it has the benefit of cool nights for sleeping. All in all a fabulous experience.

Peaceful, quiet location. Friendly, helpful staff.
We got off to a bad start as the taxi driver at the airport didn't have a clue where our hotel was and got hopelessly lost before asking some locals for directions, and charging us the full amount for his mistake! The hotel more than made up for it though... the location is pleasantly tucked away in the verdant, leafy hills of Santo da Sara a small quiet village a few Kilometres away from Funchal. Our room was one of four in an out building just a few yards up the hill from the main hotel and restaurant. The room was basic but clean and comfortable, with great views of the mountains in front. Staff were more than helpful and were forthcoming in giving travel advice and directions as well as general hotel hospitality. Restaurant seemed a bit pricey (evening meal) but the food was very good. I would definitely recommend this as a quiet holiday stay.

Fantastic Service. Wonderful quiet location.
This was our first stop of five in Medeira. Its fairly close in a quiet location to the airport. This hotel gave us a wonderful start to our holiday, very welcoming, (Medeiran wine as we walked through the door). Excellent food provided, and our wonderful hosts introduced us to the Medeiran way of life. We felt like part of their family. Most of the quests joined together in front of a roaring log fire of their own accord, and talked of their experiences. Wonderful, wonderful place. The best place to be for a start of a holiday.

Estancia en Cova do Milho
La habitación estaba genial, muy bonita y amplia al igual que el baño. Muebles rústicos de madera y tonos cálidos. Las vistas desde la terraza preciosas a la montaña. Desayuno bastante bueno, un poco de todo.

Sehr freundliches Personal und insgesamt guter Service. Die Räume und Einrichtungen waren sehr sauber. Das Hotel ist etwas abgelegen in einer parkähnlichen Gegend mit toller Aussicht auf die Berge. Sehr ruhig und ideal zum Ausspannen.. Die Begrüßung beim Check in war sehr freundlich. Es gibt ein Kaminzimmer wo jeden Abend der Kamin angefeuert wurde und wo man sich gut zum Lesen oder chillen Abends bei einem guten Glas Wein aufhalten konnte.Das Frühstück ist eine Mischung aus englischem und kontinentalen Frühstück mit Rührei, Speck und Toastbrot aber auch ganz leckere Brötchen, Müsli und immer frisch zubereiteten Früchten. Nur der Kaffee war für unseren Geschmack etwas dünn. Beim Abendessen kann man aus verschiedenen Menus wählen. Wir haben allerdings nur am ersten Abend dort gegessen weil wir die Restaurants auf der Insel ausprobieren wollte.

Wir war eine Woche in diesem kleinen Hotel. Es hat insgesamt 9 Zimmer und ist optimal geeignet für Einzelpersonen oder Paare. Ein Auto ist erforderlich, da von dort aus keine Busse fahren. Die nächste Ortschaft ist ca. 1,5 km entfernt. Bis nach Santa Cruz sind es ca. 8 km. Das Personal ist super zuvorkommend und sehr sehr freundlich. Es ist eine familiäre Atmosphäre. Das Hotel ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Der Garten ist schön und es gibt Liegen dort. Jedes Zimmer hat Balkon oder Terrasse. Das Frühstück ist ok (Brötchen, Brot, Käse, Schinken, Bacon, Rührei, frisches Obst, Marmelade, Müsli, Kaffee, Tee, Saft und Wasser). Wir haben 4 mal im Hotel zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Was uns besonders gut gefallen hat, ist dass alles sehr liebevoll hergerichtet ist (mit vielen Blumen dekoriert). Abends haben wir immer mit einem Rotwein vor dem Kamin auf einer der kuscheligen Sofas verbracht. Es ist sehr ungezwungen. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig ausgestattet, was aber für diesen Preis absolut in Ordnung ist. Wir haben in dem Bett sehr gut geschlafen. Absolute Empfehlung von uns.

Superbe hôtel
Le seul point négatif est le manque d’isolation sonore de la chambre mais ce n’était pas vraiment dérangeant parce qu’en général il fait très calme. Les employés étaient très sympathiques. Hôtel à conseiller.

Idyllisches Hotel in den Bergen
Sehr schönes, kleines Hotel - perfekt für alle, die Entspannung suchen. Uns hat besonders der wunderschöne Garten und der Blick auf die Berge gefallen. Ich kann das Hotel wärmstens empfehlen!

Dejlig beliggenhed og venligt personale.
Fantastisk beliggenhed i bjergene. Her er roligt og afslappende. Covo do Milho er fint udgangspunkt for nogle fantastiske levadavandringer - og man møder ikke mange andre på turene. Feks levada Nova neden for stedet - og i den anden ende af den nærliggende lille bjergby Santo da Serra er der to andre der kan kombineres i en rundtur. Morgenmaden er rigtig dejlig og varieret.

Elegant countryside
We booked 2 nights and stayed 4. The staff is adorable and great local cuisine. The room small but very confortable with a espacios bathroom. Elegantly decorated in the top of a mountain with very easy acces to the main highway and about 15 mi utes to Funchal or International airport

Mysigt och familjärt hotell
Hemtrevligt litet hotell med mysigt vardagsrum. Enkel standard på rum och frukost, men prisvärt. Ligger en bit upp i bergen och är en bra utgångspunkt om man vill åka runt till olika delar av ön. Lite kallare klimat än nere i Funchal.

Hübsches und sehr ruhiges Hotel in den Hügeln
Wir haben die Ruhe und die Gemütlichkeit des Hotels sehr genossen. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und das Personal überzeugte mit Ihrer Herzlichkeit. Würden das Hotel jedem empfehlen der etwas Ruhe braucht.

Quinta de charme à l'environnement paisible
Il faut une voiture sinon trop compliqué, mais à part ça tout est charmant, sympathiques hôtes, dîner raffiné bien que sans grande originalité. Les chambres sont appréciables avec une grande terrasse pour profiter du jardin et du soleil. A 10 minutes de l'aéroport. Excellent rapport qualité prix

Location e personale fantastici
Bellissima location immersa nel verde e nella tranquillità. Personale disponibile e discreto. Noi abbiamo alloggiato nello chalet su due livelli: al piano superiore zona notte con bagno con doccia molto luminosa mentre al pian terreno zona living con cucina (meno luminosa ma dotata di una buona illuminazione artificiale e un pò umida). Lo chalet è molto ampio. Abbiamo cenato la prima sera con menu' a 22,5 euro a testa bevande escluse (antipasto, secondo di carne o pesce con contorno, dolce). La colazione prevede sia la parte dolce (ciambella, diversi tipi di pane con marmellate fatte in casa, yogurt, macedonia,cereali) e salata (prosciutto,formaggio, bacon,uova strapazzate,verdure fresche). Ottimo il servizio wi-fi. Ci torneremo perchè è un posto rigenerante ed intimo.

Hotel calme et accueillant
Très bien située loin des grands hôtels cette maison d’hôtes est vraiment idéale pour découvrir Madère,sur les hauteurs de Santa Cruz elle est au calme et bien située,les chambres sont confortables et le personnel est charmant,aimable et prévenant.Petit déjeuner frais et copieux sucré et salé.Une belle découverte

hôtel calme très agréable, bien situé à proximité de l'aéroport, très bon petit déjeuner. Mais problème d'évacuation et de réglage de l'eau dans la salle de bains
