Disappointing
Excellent building but disappointing apartment. It is located on the lower ground floor next to the entrance & exit from the underground garage so all drivers, passengers plus cleaners & maintenance staff coming and going from about 4am were banging both doors. We were there three weeks but there was no change of bed linen. As the terrace was completely in the shade there was little chance of drying any washing. The kitchen is under-equipped- no chopping board, no jug, no butter dish, a dirty coffee machine, hot plate rusty & stained, and tiny preparation area. The owner was advised that the battery on the garage opener was flat so we needed to take a taxi to the next village to buy a new one. It showed that the property manager hadn’t checked anything prior to our arrival. There is a continuing bad smell in the bathroom from the drains which is probably symptomatic of the location on the lower ground floor. In summary it’s a lovely building well located for both the village and the harbour but probably the worst apartment there. Very disappointing.

Thanks for taking the time to review our apartment. It’s disappointing that you did not appreciate the apartment & please accept my apologies regarding the ‘unforeseeable’ battery issue, you were of course offered full guidance for replacement & compensation for any costs incurred, more than once, which we would have been happy to pay. I had a number of phone conversations with your partner about a number of issues including the apartments location & facilities. It’s ground floor location & terrace arrangement is clear & valued by the vast bulk of our 5 star reviewers (many of whom have been returning guests). The noise issue you raised has never been mentioned previously & certainly never at 4am! I can only assume it was revellers at that time, which again is highly unusual for this development. I understand the apartment may not have met your obviously very high standards, it is hard to please everyone, but I can only totally disagree with your incorrect description of our very popular & highly reviewed apartment. With regard to the kitchen equipment perhaps you failed to locate some items, as you know I was always available to help & answer queries, the coffee machine we will look into. My key holder did try to answer some of your issues & explained why he thought your were wrong when you expressed your opinion to him during your stay. Drain odour can occur on coastal developments at times & is easily resolved by regular flushing. I am sorry your stay was not up to your demanding standards & I do hope you find something more suited to your requirements if you book via VRBO in the future, Steve.

Fabulous!
Had a great stay (although not long enough!) at Steves apartment. Its in a great location, really well equipped and fantastic pool which was really quiet the week we were there. I would recommend this apartment and i would book to stay again without hesitation.

Great holiday

Great apartment close to marina
The apartment is like a home from home, Steve has provided everything you could ask for on holiday. It was lovely and cool despite the heatwave and the kids loved the pool area which was immaculate. The beach is 30 seconds walk away with a lovely beach bar and the marina with a great selection of restaurants is only a few mins walk. Thanks for everything Steve, hope to be back and would definitley recommend.

It was great to stay here. You are never 'sure' until you open the door but pleased to say all was as described. Location was superb and Steve was always there for any assistance. The staff working to keep the site clean were very friendly and helpful. We are planning to return next year.

Fantastic Holiday in Beautiful Duquesa!
Hi. This was our 3rd time staying in Steve’s brilliant apartment. The location is so good , pool right outside the door and 1 minute from the beach. We could walk everywhere . The apartment is fantastic and we had plenty space , even with 6 staying, including 4 teenagers! This is a fantastic place for a holiday and the apartment has everything you could possibly need. It really is a home away from home. There is security all the time , and it is a very safe place to stay, no noise at night . We really loved our stay and can’t wait to go again. It was all so easy to book and collecting keys was simple. Thanks Steve for everything.

Excellent apartment in prime location
The apartment is very modern and clean with all the facilities you need to enjoy your time there. The owner was very friendly and helpful and answered any questions straight away. It is located in a prime position near to the castle and to the port of Duquesa. The beach is a minute away so ideal for families. I would recommend this property and would return again.

family holiday
we have visited this property several times over the last 10 years. we have always found it to be very clean and well -appointed. secure area round the pool. a short walk to the marina and beach plus a good selection of places to eat. all dealings with the owner have been highly efficient. ideal for a family holiday.

Great location
No issues with property at all we had to book at short notice as we were let down. Steve was brilliant he communicated really well. We felt with having the granddaughter and 4 adults we were on top of ourselves on occasion. But could not fault the apartment and complex excellently maintained the staff never stopped. Great apartment, Excellent location. Very well equipped. Very clean, tidy and comfortable. Fantastic apartment. Fantastic location!
We started our journey home today with heavy hearts. We've had six fantastic weeks at this apartment. The location is perfect, right on the beach and just five minutes walk from the beautiful marina, with its many great restaurants. Mexican, Italian, Thai, Spanish and Indian to name a few of the beautiful flavours at Duquesa marina. A ten minute ride to Estepona, a large town by the sea, and well worth a visit. Steve, the host was great, approachable and always available. Very highly recommend.

Fantastic apartment

Beautiful, clean, comfortable apartment.
We (myself, my husband, and 3 teenagers) stayed in this apartment in July 2018. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The rooms were spacious with air conditioning and good quality furnishings. The terrace was roomy with a six seater table and cushioned chairs and overlooks the lovely, very well maintained, pool area. There were plenty of good quality towels including beachtowels. The kitchen was well equipped, including a dishwasher, with a separate utility area with a washing machine. The gated complex was safe and secure and there was never a problem with noise or disturbances. Access is only obtained by key or intercom to the individual apartments or securitydesk. The security and household staff in the complex were friendly and helpful. The apartment is a very short stroll to the beach, and a beautiful promenade runs, in one direction to a bustling Marina with lots of bars, restaurants, and a nightly market, and in the other direction to a quieter, more traditional, Spanish village also with a market, both within easy walking distance. Steve, the owner, was very responsive to emails and phone messages and an absolute pleasure to deal with. The arrangements for picking up and dropping off of the keys was very simple and straightforward. We all enjoyed our holiday there and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Lovely spacious apartment great location
We had a lovely stay, location perfect, right on the beach in between two great chirungitos. Everything we needed in the apartment , only negative thing I would say is that the pool area isn’t very inviting , loungers are very tired and worn looking.

Great property, great location, kids loved pool and beaches!
We all enjoyed our stay in La Duquesa. The appartment was a nice size, well equipped and ideally placed for the pool. We used the pool every day and also visited the beaches in La Duquesa, Sabanillas and Estepona which were all easily accessible. Steve was very responsive, answering questions before and during our stay which helped things run smoothly! Overall I would recommend the appartment and the area for a holiday.

Wonderful apartment

Tired and grubby
This is described as a luxury apartment, this only applies to the bricks and mortar. This is the first and only time I have ever had such disgusting, unhygienic bedding, totally unacceptable. We had booked this apartment for 4 weeks and on changing the bedding found the duvets, mattress and pillow protectors badly covered in unhygenic stains and had to request items to be washed and replaced. On arrival we discovered a unpleasant, strong drain smell coming from the en-suite bathroom, which lasted for the whole stay, some days worse than others.When reported we were told it is a typical Spanish problem, but this is hard to believe as it is a modern complex. With regards to the kitchen it is very poorly equipped, this included 2 burnt cooking pans, a disgusting baking tray, which were unusable and we had to buy our own to use. The crockery and glasses are incomplete sets, having to use shallow soup bowls for cereal, 1 high ball glass and 3 tumblers as an example, when the apartment is listed for 6 persons. We feel that we have overpaid for our stay considering the condition and position of the apartment, there are nicer appartments in the complex for the same or less money. If it was not for the fact that we have 2 lots of friends flying out to stay we would have packed up and gone home after the 1st week upon finding the very unhygenic bedding. All the consumable items e.g bedding, towels, crockery and electrical kitchen goods need to be replaced. I would not recommend anyone staying here as the owner is not concerned about the comfort of his paying guests.

An excellent apartment.
This was an excellent apartment. Well situated to the local amenities; which were all within walking distance. If you want a nice relaxing holiday; I would recommend this area, and apartment. Local restaurants and bars are superb, mostly situated around the marina. Plenty of night life if you want it. The area suits all tastes. Beach is excellent and you can walk for miles along the pathways at the rear of the beaches

Location location location ..... excellent apartment in a lovely area!
This truly is a lovely apartment, in fact some of the pictures don't really do it justice. We had a great time here and it is a great base for exploring Andalusia which is highly recommended! The apartment fell 1 star short of full marks because we tend to like a balcony which attracts a little sun at some point in the day but this one didn't, i appreciate for some this might actually be a bonus though! It is plenty big enough with some nice furniture overlooking the pool though. The only other slightly annoying thing was some kind of generator noise heard from the bedrooms, it could be quite annoying late at night... it was not constant but did go on and off periodically - luckily by bed time we were exhausted so it did not spoil our sleep too much.

Great location near the port and beach lovely complex well maintained
Had a lovely time apartment lovely with all the comforts of home. In such a great location near all the restaurants, bars markets that Duquesa has to offer. Golf course within driving distance. Gibraltar about 35 mins away if you want to visit. Also the Roman baths is a different wee experience. The complex is kept very clean and has 24/7 friendly security which is good. A great location to go to other places near by e.g. Estepona, Marbella, Benvista. Duquesa well worth a visit have been here on many occasions and love it.

Great getaway
This was our second stay in Duquesa in this lovely apartment. We returned because our first stay, last year, was great too and we wanted to take our daughter and her partner with us, who hadn't been previously. Everybody is so helpful and friendly and most of the waiters in the local bars in the port remembered us from last year - I'm not sure that was a good or bad thing though! The beach bars and all the restaurants serve local fresh food and it was always beautifully cooked and tasted very fresh. The apartment itself was clean and everything you needed was there, even shampoo, conditioner, washing tablets, sun lotion etc - mind you these were invariably left behind from the previous occupants but very welcome all the same, and we indeed returned the favour and left some of our products behind when we came home. As the apartment is on the ground level it only takes about a minute to get to the pool and, the time of the year we went in May, there was always plenty of sun loungers available. As we had been to the area before this time we spent quite a lot of our time relaxing by the pool reading quite a few of the many books that were also available to the occupants of the complex in the reception area and also on the bookshelf in the apartment, and In fact I left one of mine behind for somebody to read who went in after us. Again, I cant recommend this place highly enough to anybody that hasn't visited before.

Spent nearly four weeks in the apartment and couldn't ask for more.
Duquesa is a fabulous unspoilt gem on the Costa Del Sol and this apartment is perfect to enjoy all the facilities this quaint port has to offer. The apartment is very modern,well appointed and very nicely furnished. Being on the ground floor it is very handy for the swimming pool and very convenient to the secure car park. Location is brilliant being 75 metres to the beach and a very casual 2 minute stroll to the marina with its excellent choice of multi national restaurants and bars. Highly recommended and definitely will be returning.

tenéis que tener en cuenta que antes de pagar va a aumentar el precio porque el precio está en libras y las libras vale más en mi caso 200 e más El ruido del mantenimiento a las 7:00 de la mañana empiezan a limpiar la piscina que no te deja dormir tranquilo y por la noche cuando los vecinos entran por el garaje parecen que estan contigo ademas no hay cobertura.para conseguir cobertura necesitas estar todo rato en la terraza necesitas 3 días para secar la ropa por que hay humedad

Thank you for your review. This was your second two week stay in our clean apartment. We have our own apartment in Duquesa so inspect 201MDC regularly. You were aware when you booked, as per your first visit, that there was only communal WiFI in the reception & Pool area only. Please note for future guests I have now installed free 100MBSs WiFI & an LG Smart TV to complement the free to air channels BBC1/2/ITV/Channel4. Guests can log in to their Netflix & Prime accounts etc. We do use an excellent local cleaning service & note no complaints from any other guests, or from yourself last time or this time during your stay prior to your above review. Sadly, we came to a disagreement regarding fees as you arrived 2 days earlier than your booking and were not prepared to pay for them even though you had access two days early. This has left a somewhat sour taste as the full price of the stay was not forthcoming and VRBO had to retain the security deposit to partially compensate. Buen apartamento con algún pero
El apartamento es bastante bueno en general y la urbanización también muy buena. Tiene algún incoveniente al estar en la planta baja y al lado de la piscina por el ruido. También tiene una puerta de acceso al garaje, que causa molestias al abrirse y cerrarse. Ruidos de depuradora, etc. El acceso a la playa, muy bueno. La plaza de garaje, cerca del acceso al apartamento. Tiene más ó menos bastante menaje de cocina. El aire acondicionado muy bueno y silencioso

Estancia muy agradable.
Hemos estado fenomenal. El apartamento muy limpio y muy cuidado. Se accede muy fácilmente sin ascensor. Es muy cómodo y tiene todo lo necesario para cocinar. Las camas son comodas. La terraza muy fresquitos y amplia. Esta en una esquina reservada por lo que se tiene intimidad. Muy contentos. Volveremos seguro. Steve es una excelente persona y muy comunicativo. Lo cual se agradece mucho. Ha sido un placer.
