Little Forge is a great and unique property; quiet, interesting, great kitchen to cook and eat in. We LOVED the garden and especially the opening glass wall from kitchen to garden. We loved the Inglenook fireplace and the stone walls. The bedrooms were generously sized. Rules and instructions were abundant and clear. We would gladly stay again. The only demerit of our experience was that it seemed like things were limited—through my mistake the host thought that we were just 2 guests rather than 6 (a couple plus our 4 children), so only one bed was made up. We got in late, and the next day we got linens for the other beds but no more towels—and linens and towels were kept locked away. It felt like we were running out of basic supplies like hand soap, dishwasher tabs, and paper towels, which were there but in small quantities (i.e., containers and rolls nearly empty rather than full). None of this was a big deal, but it overall gave an impression of less than full hospitality.

Lovely Cottage and Brook
We loved Little Forge! It was perfect for our family of 4. Our kids, 8 and 5, enjoyed playing in the Brook every afternoon and it was one of the highlights of their trip to England. Blockley is a very cute village which has all you need - a shop, cafe and pub. We liked that it was a quiet town, a bit off the beaten path, but close to the bigger towns. The classic old stone cottage has so much character yet all the modern amenities too. The fireplace was perfect for a rainy evening. The garden is lovey as well. Highly recommend!

Perfect Little Gem
Absolutely charming! Small and quiet village. Wonderful footpaths with glorious views. We enjoyed listening to all the various bird songs and smelling all the blossoms. Just marvelous!

We have traveled all over the world and this is the nicest VRBO we have ever stayed in. The beds were so comfortable and the crisp white bedding was cool and soft. We enjoyed playing cards at the kitchen table. The kitchen was well equipped. The back yard was so pretty. There was a table and chairs to sit on on the patio and a stream ran behind the house. The owner was available for questions by phone or email. I would highly recommend this property!!!

Wonderful cottage stay in the Cotswolds
The Little Forge cottage was perfectly situated in Blockley and the Cotswolds for our 5 night vacation stay in March. The property is well laid out and had everything we needed. We enjoyed evenings sitting around the Inglenook fireplace. It is only a short walking distance to several pubs and the village shop, and is centrally located to visit many other pretty Cotswold villages by car, all very close by. The stone cottage was very clean, comfortable and spacious. We highly recommend Little Forge if you are looking for a great place to stay.

Beyond charming!
Simply put, we loved everything about it. Cozy fire in the evenings to take the chill from the air, a glass of wine or morning coffee in the garden listening to the babbling brook. The lovely walks we took right out of the front door added so much to the location. A new experience of hanging clothes to dry on an drying rack which worked perfectly. The Co-op was a must visit offering fantastic meals Wednesday through Saturday as well as well-stocked grocery store. Definitely another visit will be in the making. Amazing quaint Cottage in Blockley
Everything turned out perfect. Shawn was helpful, for every question we inquired about. Cottage was clean and very comfortable, with so many amenities. Cuteness on the Quaint
This is the second time we have stayed at Little Forge and it has been another idyllic trip to Blockley. Such a lovely spot with great access to all we wanted to do. Outstanding Property
Our stay far exceeded my expectations. The cottage was furnished beautifully and the location in the quaint town of Blockley was perfect. The village shop has everything you need and there are plenty of nice scenic walks. It is also perfectly situated via a short car ride to Bourton on the water, Stow on the Wold, etc. Fantastic!

The cottage was beautiful, super clean and it had everything we needed and more. The design of the kitchen and lounge areas made them perfect for socialising, with cable TV and games thrown in. The garden was gorgeous and we spent time outside, even though it was little cold, just so we could make the most of it. The village of Blockley was pretty, with very friendly residents and a community led cafe. It was also an easy base to explore other parts of the Cotswolds from. I would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage, and I’m already planning a return !

Very nice little house, lovely village
Little Forge was the perfect place for our short stay, with all mod cons, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is a great location, in a classic (but not that well known) village slap bang in the middle of the most wonderful countryside. The village is very quiet and although the house is right on a road, the road doesn't go anywhere so there is very little traffic, even during the day, which was ideal for us light sleepers. It is surrounded by golden woods in the autumn sunshine, with great walks from the door. We have known the area all our lives but Shawn left lots of leaflets of local information in case you don't. We came just as the lockdown was about to begin and Shawn very kindly allowed us to come a day early so we could get home in time. We hope to be coming again in the future, perhaps when the bluebells are out. Thank you Shawn.

Beautiful Little Forge
Little Forge was an absolute dream, and we can’t wait to go back. The cottage is set up with an incredible amount of thoughtfulness and intuition so you feel perfectly comfortable and truly at home. The location is wonderful, and the town is lovely. The bedrooms and beds were extremely comfortable and inviting. As someone who likes to cook when I’m away, the kitchen was perfect, and had everything you could think of. Shawn was an incredible and responsive host.

Could not have been better!
All we can say is that the pictures do not do this wonderful cottage justice.......and they are wonderful pictures. The location is quite nice for seeing the surrounding area and the village is charming. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Delightful cottage in a picturesque Cotswold village
A lovely cottage that has been expertly renovated to a very high standard in a quintessential Cotswold village. The cottage provided everything we needed to enjoy a few days away with a group of friends . The view across the garden and down to the stream was beautiful. Blockley itself is in a great location to enjoy many of the attractions in the area and has a great local shop and pub. Whilst parking was limited, we managed to find spaces on street close to the cottage. Slightly disappointing was that the outdoor furniture needed some cleaning and cushions to add to the overall feeling of luxury that the remainder of the property provided!

We had never been to the Cotswolds before - but decided on this venue for a family reunion and our daughters birthday. We were so excited once we walked into the home - it is stunning beyond words. This home is everything that is described and more. Our hosts were on hand if we needed anything at all. The welcome pack of wine - cake and chips (crisps) were a thoughtful and nice touch after our long travels. We have shared this place with our UK family/friends and if we ever visit the Cotswolds again (from Australia) - we will definitely be asking to stay. Highly recommended - you will not be disappointed.

Peaceful Bliss !
I booked this trip to The Cotswold's as I was over from Florida for 3 weeks and wanted a great time with my brothers and sister (along with their other halves) to reconnect and have a drop of traditional England and this location and home definitely provided it ! To drive through the village was breathtaking. But to open the front door and enter the cottage and see the views and high quality of this cottage was Christmas morning anticipation! It was like unwrapping the perfect gift. My Family were absolutely astounded by the whole romance of the place and that was the effect I was going for! We all relaxed loved sitting outside and engaging in great conversations. TV what TV ? Lol. The local Pub had wonderful quality food and the little tea shop down the hill was adorable. Everyone is just so friendly! Love the walks. Met loads of locals all very friendly indeed. The Church was stunning, the views breathtaking. It truly is a piece of Heaven here and we all just loved it so much! Visited a few other villages also and again not disappointed by the friendly people all over. Posted photos on Facebook to friends in The States and they just loved it and a couple of them want to visit next year! Home was very clean and accommodating. Simply stunning ! Much appreciated !

Amazing house!
This house was one of the highlights in our trip to England. It is located in the small, beautiful Cotswalds town of Blockley. Unlike some of the more famous towns nearby it is quiet and not comercialuzed. After about 7 pm it is silent except for sheep lowing and bird calling. The house itself is a wonderful mix of modern and historic. The sitting room has a large stone fireplace and comfy couches. The kitchen is airy and light filled. The dining area looks out over the lovely yard and has doors that collapse out of the way allowing in fresh air. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable as well. The back yard is a lush garden area. The landscaping is perfect. At the bottom of the hill runs an old mill stream. The babbling water can be heard from the yard and the bed rooms. Overall this was one of the loveliest and modt telaxing places I have ever stayed. I was truly sad to leave.

Lovely relaxing time in a beautiful cottage!
The cottage is beautifully located in one of the cutest villages of the cotswolds. The owners paid attention to every possible detail while renovating the house. For us personally the open fire was the finishing touch. I wouldn't change anything and I can only recommend the cottage to everyone who's looking for the perfect house to relax in style. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They gave us a load of tips and lovely restaurants to go to and an accomplementary range of drinks and snacks were waiting for us upon our arrival. Must do!

We stayed in early January. There were 5 of us and we arrived on the first afternoon to find the cottage with lights on and heating going. It was lovely, warm and inviting. The cottage is well appointed with many nice touches. The rear kitchen and dining area is modern and well laid out with a central island bench and has a great view of the countryside. The front door opens into the lounge room where the fireplace takes centre stage. Upstairs the three bedrooms and two bathrooms were fitted out to a high standard. Overall the property was very clean and tidy and we were able to meet the owner Shawn who popped in and bought us some extra items. Blockley is an excellent base to explore the Cotswolds. There is a shop at the end of the road which we found very handy plus a couple of pubs nearby. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Fabulous village home
This place was perfect and absolutely lives up to the pictures for sure. Everything looks wonderfully done..gorgeous kitchen, comfy beds and bedding, cozy living room and all sorts of outdoor spaces if you're lucky enough to be visiting during good weather. This is probably our most favorite rental property ever! And the price is beyond reasonable for what you get. There's a little grocery/cafe nearby...had a nice breakfast and wine there on 2 occasions. Lots of beautiful Cotswold villages around, especially Bourton-on-the-Water, and great restaurants. We loved dinners at the Potting Shed at the Dormy House Hotel, The Chequers, and The Wild Rabbit Inn. We could not have been happier with Little Forge.

We had a nice weekend in the cottage. It is has been tastefully refurbished. The beds are really good and the view is nice. It's just that in our opinion the cottage lacks comfortabele chairs and sofas. (Inside and outside)
